Any recommendations for a good vacuum cleaner, corded and bagless under £100?

Thanks

The VAX series are very good. And if you checkout their site they often have "damaged box" units for sale at significant discounts.

We have a battery Dyson for quick and easy mess, but the far cheaper £50 corded/bagless Vax I got from Tesco a few years ago is superb for what I call 'proper' cleaning. They've revamped their range since but I'd have no qualms about buying another Vax if I needed to. This seems to be the updated version...

Ours has a big filter which needs cleaning out quite regularly, but it's not a big chore; I'd rather see the dust in there than hidden all over the house.

Only problem with Dyson is you pay a LOT to make Mr Dyson obscenely rich.

I agree they're the Apple of vacuum cleaners, but I kind of forgive him. Those of us who grew up in the 'maybe I can squeeze one more load into the bag even if it comes off halfway and starts puffing dust everywhere' era haven't forgotten how revolutionary his vacuums were. And down at my mothballed flat I've a Dyson DC01 that's about 25 years old. Apart from replacing the hose (and maybe a belt... I forget) it's just kept working. So when I saw a Black Friday deal on an older handheld a few years ago, I was semi-happy to fork out for the Dyson even though I knew there's no way any battery vacuum can compete with a wired vacuum.

The handheld has been very convenient, and means the 'big hoover' isn't out so often, but I definitely wouldn't buy a big Dyson now. They all look a bit flimsy compared to my industrial grade DC01, even before I start laughing at the price tag.

FWIW the wet/dry 'Goblin Plus 1000' (a pre-Henry, Henry style) vacuum in the garage, for DIY work and nasty spillages, is more like 33 years old and hasn't had a penny spent on it. I did have to take it apart and give the motor some TLC last year though. I may buy it a new filter soon; it's earned it... especially in the late 80s when it had to hoover up a combination of deep dust and hibernating flies in the loft of my mother's old house. :-)
