Will probably work the other way around going by past launches. Every time he says "it just works" the supply gets depleted by 10 cards allowing etailers to pump the consumer.

Im straight up not buying a card in late 2020 with 10gb ram. Im just not doing it sorry. It's an insult.
I'll buy a second hand 2080Ti to do me over until AMD release.

Im actually pleased at the 3080 having 10gb ram. Because I will defo grab a second hand 2080ti and save quite a bit of money. 2080Ti will be fine for me till the next release.

Obviously all pricing and performance dependent but you're considering buying a last gen 2080 Ti, which will likely be c.£800 on the used market, instead of a new gen 3080 which will likely be faster in raster, faster in ray tracing, and also around £800 all for the sake of 1Gb of ram?

if 2080 Ti will be fine for you until next release then so would a 3080?

Seems crazy to me. Why not wait for reviews and see if they show it as vram limited.

Im just hoping its not too long to the AMD release as at the moment there are no dates.

3070 at $500 and 2080ti perf? 2080ti owners on suicide watch. Can't see it myself.

It's crippled by 8GB VRAM. Same with the 10GB of the 3080. Only viable card for 4k + VR is the 3090. 3080 20GB version sounds interesting though, assuming it's a real thing.
