NVIDIA ‘Ampere’ 8nm Graphics Cards

Shill fest this one... what i suspect this years massive rips off and mini scams and annoyances to be are:

Less than optimal vram so no 12gb
Overly expensive £150 cooler
Record prices
No real mindblowing fps gains but carefully dripfed
Price fixed carefully with neice Lisa Su
Man in leather jacket who thinks leather is still cool

You obviously have not been following the thread properly. I am pulling his leg as yesterday he had to be told multiple times that the launch was not yesterday but today. Lol :p
Hahaha i skipped a lot due to the crazy walls of texts arguing back and forth...

Just skimmed and looked at the fake links and leajs etc...

Tempted to flog my 5700xt and go for the 3080 but cautiously waiting first to see AMDs offerings too.

Don’t blame you mate. Princess and Foxy were at it, I skipped those posts myself. Haha.

Yea, I highly suggest you wait until AMD reveal their hand.

I looked at some of the leaks last night before going to bed and dreamt that I was presenting the slides...Maybe some sort of weird combo of work anxiety, combined with hardware excitement.

I hope the review embargo lifts today. But it could easily be in 1-2 weeks time also.

im going to go for a few nvidia approved leaks a few hours before hand to get people interested.

cancelling my heating for this winter if i get one :D

Eh?? It doesn't matter how "old the tech" is. You seem very hung up on how old the tech is or if it's a generation out of date yada yada.

I don't care if it's 5 generations old or 50 years old. I care if it can push the frame rate I want. End of.
Not hung up on it but IMO you'd be stupid not to use it when putting a value on something. You'd also consider the usage risks too, IMO. I understand what you're saying about FPS requirements, if that's the main focus. Each to their own. Too much £ and for me it just makes sense to buy something new

My 2080 I think someone would be mad paying much more than £350 -75 for it once the 30 series is released and it's been used lightly for gaming, albeit, with the PC on for many hours a day however (16 since march). This is not an advert :)
Anyway, don't want to distract from the thread so good luck buying one and hope you can get one for a sensible price.

Blimey, you guys went at it all through the night..

couldn’t sleep because of the reveal hype ? :D

My sleeps off so I've been up all night, and have realised that making it to 5pm reveal and not passing out is looking less likely now, without a power nap in there somewhere.

Not long now chaps we will no the ££££.

I have a very strong suspicion that due to Covid and general supply chain issues all around the world that product availability will be very bad on this lineup and that's going to mean severe price gouging. So whatever the RRP is, I can see it going way north of that, especially for UK supply.

The key thing is I will be able to buy one second hand for "x". Then when AMD release later in the year I will be able to sell it at very close to "x". So it's basically a free loaner 2080Ti... Not bad eh.
Whereas buying a new 30xx card would leave me massively out of pocket by the time i go to sell it when AMD release cards with proper amounts of Vram.

Just waiting for gibbo to bounce in and say available stock but @£2000 can’t wait to all the faces go red lol.
