NVIDIA ‘Ampere’ 8nm Graphics Cards

The amount of people "chuffed" that the top card is now £1500. Have I missed something? You've all been played! The top card 4 years ago was £799!! It's horrible price increases!

The 3080 and 3070 are actually a little better than I feared. Not too bad.

Well the top card 4 years ago was actually the Titan X for $1200.
The 3090 is effectively the titan replacement.

My 1080ti is probably going to CEX this week (Friday) before they start dropping the offer price....

CEX will give me £278 cash no hassle...

I bought the 1080ti exactly 3 years ago for £699 ive had my time out of it.

3080 is the route for me

"Upgrading" to a card with less VRAM must been bad though? We don't know enough about 'RTX IO' to know if it effectively reduces VRAM requirements. I doubt it will, else why put 24GB on the 3090.....

I think its fair to say that 2080TI on the bay is not going to go for more than £500ish.
Most listings ending soon have 0 bids at around £600.
And those who have bids, the last bids were 29/30 August.

Unfortunately, Im one of those guys lumbered with a 2080Ti :) Thats the way it plays sometimes.

Well, TBH, I wish I was "lumbered" with a 2080 Ti!

Then I wouldn't need to be buying a 3080 FE, but as I only have a 1070, I'm overdue an upgrade.

Wonder how good RTX IO will be - I think it

Im not worried about losing a GB of Vram compared to the generational leap in performance and RTX I get

I want the new Xbox. I really do.

When Nvidia launched the 20 series I almost laughed myself into a stupor. I already had a XB Scorpio I got for a song about 2 months after launch (£330 IIRC, no controller but I had one). Last Christmas I bought myself the Gears 5 edition X and I was again very impressed. Game looks stunning.

I've grown awfully fond of my couch. And not getting RSI after a ten hour Fallout session.

Just checked Doom Eternal. Seems I am OK.

It will be interesting to see how they turn out. At least hopefully gamers of all persuasions will have options this year!

What resolution do you game at? I was thinking the 3080 was for me but also it might be overkill at 1440p.

Then again I'm sure those next gen games will need the power.
4K. This will provide more than enough grunt for me personally. Just hope the RTX IO thing actually works.

So this is interesting.

In the Nvidia Reflex video they confirmed and showed off that there is a tuning part for overclocking as part of the GeForce Experience which can be used to enable automatic tuning (overclock) and maintains the profile. Be interested to see how well that actually works.
