NVIDIA ‘Ampere’ 8nm Graphics Cards

Sometimes its a good idea to use a far bigger PSU than you need as it runs cooler, quieter and uses less electricity.

This. I learnt a long time ago that its always better to aim to have your psu running at 50-60% max capacity. This way, the fan barely operates in it and it runs cools and stress free.

If you calculate that you need 830W to run all your stuff, you are mad just buying a 850W PSU IMO as it means its going to running at 96% max capacity all the time.

I dont think that the 3090 is gonna be a whole bunch quicker than the 3080 - that why there were no nvidia benchmarks in the presentation.

In order of being sensible I would
1) Wait for 3080ti as this is true replacement for ti models but MLID is saying a 20Gb version might not come out
2) Buy 3080 then sell on at some loss for 3080ti -
3) Bite the bullet and buy 3090

I think its going to be 20% looking at the specs. SOme people (esp for the money difference) wont see that as a lot but at 4k gaming its the difference between running at 50fps and a solid 60fps.......................

Hi. is the 3090 going to be twice as fast as a 2080 ti? I have a 2080 ti at the moment and would only upgrade if its twice as fast.

What is the new Power consumption for it?

Because people keep saying wait for AMD, wait for AMD. I thought I would show the reason I dont want to wait for AMD.

1. Sorry but I just don't think they can compete at the high end. Boy who cried wolf and all that. They have had nearly a decade to prove me wrong. I am still waiting...
2. Ampere prices are good. even if AMD DO compete. I don't think it will change prices across the board very much at all. AMD would come in just slightly under for same Perf and Nvidia would sit tight.
3. I have a Gsync display.

Im really exited now after watching the DF 80% improvement. Haven’t regretted buying my 2080ti one bit my kid can have it. I wouldn’t sell it for someone to say it’s faulty when I no it isn’t . Looking on the web shop I don’t see any zotac not worried about the price of the 3090 my 2080ti has served my really well and not a single problem out of it.ROLL ON REVIEWS NOW.

I thought the 3080 was twice as fast but might of read this wrong.

From the hands on digital foundry did the 3080 is about 70-80% faster than the 2080. Sometimes 60% sometimes up to 90%. Since 1080ti is approx 2080, that's a worthwhile upgrade. Not sure it will be for 2080ti owners though.

Sorry but i think they can and will blow NVIDIA out the water like they have with there cpu with intel

I like the numbers and the price. But I don't need the new cards; I game at 1440p and as long as I get 60 FPS on my GSYNC monitor I'm happy :)

Maybe when 4K becomes the norm I'd upgrade
