NVIDIA ‘Ampere’ 8nm Graphics Cards

Sadly AMD would have needed a rock solid press release announcement say within a week of nvidia.
Sadly something tells me they dont have anything that will compete. You're totally right AMD would need a rock solid announcement now to stop people jumping on buying new nvidia.
I think they're scrambling in the r&d department trying to get something that will compete, I just dont think they'll do it. As previously mentioned AMD have bee n threatening nvidia for over the past decade, the threats haven't come very close.
I think having an official press conference a week after Nvidia would be a bad idea. They do not have the marketing pull of Nvida. There were 200k people in the twitch stream yesterday. I don't think AMD could have pulled such numbers.

Lets see what strategy AMDs marketing team are going to use.

I had to return a 2080Ti version of these due to a bad fan, and I have to say the MSI customer service was shocking - they didn't even want to talk to me. So that personal experience, plus the shady goings on as discussed on Gamers Nexus, makes me want to avoid this like the plague. But if I can see past these, I have a feeling it will be one of the better ones for sure.
link me to the gamers nexus ? what people been saying?

Quote yourself with the exact prices, before yesterday then. That is what most would do. You said nothing I didn't. They would be fast, they would be cheaper than Turing.

"I lost". What would that be exactly?

Like I said, you are twisting my words. Continue to do so if you like, doesn't bother me any.
Knew you could not resist.

I don't need to quote myself, I said many times, if you are that interested go search for it yourself ;)

Prices can change guys, either way remember that, it is very early days and pricing is yet to finalised by many board partners.
OcUK will aim to have largest range online and the very best prices with plenty of stock coming in. :)

Youre expecting these to be massive sellers aren't you gibbo. Not surprised, think there was a lot of shock here at the (as yet unvalidated) performance jump for this launch.

FS2020 maxes out 11gb?

I'm building a Computer for FS2020 and am thinking of buying the 3080 as I can't really justify spending £1,500 on a graphics card. I have other expensive hobbies!

Which settings are you maxing out 11gb with? Ultra?

We will see, right now Nvidia will be getting my money directly on a 3080. Even though I am not exactly a huge fan of their new design, it certainly looks a lot more premium than the cheap looking stuff the board partners want for the same price. If no game included like Nvidia then they need to drop no less than £50 to get my attention.

I'm just worried the FE cards will go out of stock before big navi launches so I'll be 'forced' to get an AIB 3080 or possibly AIB 3090 if they're still better than AMD's offering.

If you are keen enough on the website when they go live, have an account signed up with payment details etc ready. you will get one when they go live on launch day.

I have to admit it's interesting that a lot of manufacturers have 3xPCI-E connectors on board for their premium 3080's definitely looks like they are looking to enable to highest overclocking potential. Silicon lottery aside of course...

good to hear on the stock gibbo! please save me a 3080!

I know how to block up AIB cards, never held an FE.

Looking at the FE shroud don't see any screws. Looks a bit like a crow-bar job.

How are NV with warranty on watercooled cards?
