what have they done? was looking forword to there next gen cards but they look cheap with red accents etc (who uses red on a nvidia card) and whats with the x3 8 pin power ?

I think it's one of the better looking cards. You're right about the red though, but I'm sure you could turn it off or unplug it.
3x 8pins is a little annoying, but it's there to allow better overclocking. Worrying how much power this might draw though, and how much heat it could kick out.

Unless my eyes fail me, the red accents are physical and not RGB. Luckily their other card is solid black though (xc3).

I'm tempted by the EVGA card, mostly for the transferable warranty, it is a good reselling point, once the inevitable time arrives... Which is likely to be at the two year point for me.

Your eyes don't fail you, mine do. Looked like they'd added a glow effect to the image I saw.
In that case, it's probably removable. I'd paint it to match my build.

GF said the evga looked like it melted.

My prev 2080S XC gaming looked great albeit cooling perf wasn't all that.

The red looks static. Maybe go over it with a black marker. In any case mine will go under water.

Sold last two cards easily being evga standard warranty transferable but not any additional warranty.

Hmm. From what I can see the Gigabyte only uses two. I am not sure though whether the three are just for the 3090 or the 3080 as well. But yes, three will be a problem. I guess I have a spare lead but I am not sure I have a spare socket in the PSU to plug it in to lol.
