NVIDIA ‘Ampere’ 8nm Graphics Cards

I bought an O11 Dynamic XL just for the 3090.. and changed to AIO - thus far £700 worth of changes, and the card isn't even out yet lol

LOL Same here, bought the 011 dynamic pcmr version plus 6 corsiair QL120 fans & the corsair commander pro just to accommodate the 3090!

Was also looking at the distro plates for the 011 too and going full loop. I think i need to step away from the browser!

'The GPU was only overclocked by 70 MHz and memory by 850 MHz. This was the highest clock speed for this particular sample (for GPU and memory overclock). The sample had a maximum TDP of 320W'
Yup think water and dropping temps on load to sub 50 will give fantastic results. Since temperature cuts clock down hope can get FE 370w bit low shame cant set limit at 500 like i had on 980ti :7

No thats what Nvidia claims. Might be true. Might not be,.
Will be true i work in industry last thursday Parcelforce AND Royal mail have not colected any of our outhping items. First class atm is 2-4 days and second is uto whenever.

It’s also pretty normal to only get the driver a few days before the NDA lifts, that’s how you control external leaks.

They will have had the driver for the best part of a week before the first NDA, that’s plenty to get a round of benchmarks down on it and shoot a video/write an article. That said it doesn’t mean they haven’t had new drivers issued in the mean time.

It also preferable that driver issues are fixed before the release so I don’t know why people would try and spin this negatively.

More in-depth analysis always takes more time and comes out after the fact and AIB reviews.

I know its normal and is used to control leaks and every reviewer gets the driver at the same time. But thats my point. People have been receiving their cards for review for weeks now. Nobody can do anything with them until Nvidia gives them the drivers.

So why all of a sudden are cards only being shipped to reviewers supposedly at the back end of last week?

The new NDA lift is 14:00 UK time on the 16th, isn't it? Just when I'm out. If current leaks are to be believed raster performance is such that there's going to be little point in my buying a 3080 to replace my 2080 Ti. So I'll have to decide between plumping for a 3090 or waiting for Big Navi.

BTW none of the usual tech-Tubers are admitting to having a RTX 3090. Interesting.

Looks like its hit its power limit not temp issues. Watercooling that card in that review will not get any Bette overclocks.

Will be interested to see what the 400-500W cards can do that AIB are releasing.

I dont think any of them have them. NDA on the RTX 3090 isnt released until a week after the NDAs on the 3080 cards.

So people wont know how much better (or not) the 3090 is when the 3080s come out.

Personally I wouldn't get too excited for trying to nab one on release day, doing a bit of reading up on the short supply of some electrical components, capacitors etc in the industry because of covid so it seems highly unlikely there will be much if anything on the 17th or unless they've been in production for some time before the announcement but I doubt that either considering some reviewers only having them about a week.

Not to mention the extra hype will have everyone drooling at the mouth so unless Nvidia accommodated for the extra suspected demand it could be a wait for some.

Also should add I seem to remember when I pre ordered the 1080ti I'm not saying which retailer only got 10 cards in after over a 3 week pre order so seems dubious to me and as the big retailers are neither confirming they have or don't have stock almost sounds like they are under an NDA from Nvidia themselves lol to tell anyone about stock which I find very strange indeed.

Gibbo has already mentioned that Nvidia barred him from doing any promotional shots under their NDA.[/QUO

So we've got an NDA of AIB cards that has nothing to do with Nvidia other than it's their board and that's subjective with half of the AIBs lol.

But they are all over the place and on YouTube in China showing all the different models lol.

I'm going to get a 3090 I've decided. I've been saving up for it and it means I'll scratch that itch to build a whole system for a little while to come.

Obviously we don't know everything about the cards yet, but I am running a Super Flower Leadex II 750W 80 Plus Gold Modular Power Supply the moment which I believe should be good enough but something like the EVGA FTW/ASUS ROG Strix would that draw a lot more power than another 3090 or have they historically vs their counter parts? I've read somewhere that (I think it was EVGA) they recommended 850w for certain 3090s but I've read so much recently I could be mistaken. Also cards like the EVGA in the video I watch come with the Overclocking stuff, would that void the warranty of the card?

Thanks

I mean, the fact that it's their board, architecture, software and branding kinda means it has everything to do with them, so they get to call the shots unfortunately.

China is as China does; their market is big enough for them to do what they want without feeling any repercussions from NDA's.

Could do with one of these braided cable kits with 3 x 8 pin pci-e cables in as well as the cpu and motherboard does anyone do one yet?
