OcUK Ampere RTX3000 series review thread

Haven’t had chance to watch them yet but am I missing something when they have a (variable) jump over the 2080ti it’s terrible news? Even though it’s half the cash... ?

Good for price, but not much gain over 2x age/price 2080Ti apart from some 4k, not so much 1440p.
Isn't this a case of CPU limitation tho? At 4k CPU less of an impact. Need better CPU's to keep up with the pace at lower resolutions :D.

Is it just 3080 reviews today? Bit stupid IMO, why not the entire new range or at least the 3090 too given how close to the launch of that

It's more to do with 2080tis owner having no upgrade path for 1440p now unless you spend 1500 big ones

No but it should have never been compare to the 2080Ti but the 2080 (Jensen is to blame for that)

I could just sit on 1440p with my Titan Xp (2017) and play my quite big backlog of games and wait on 4000 series and whatever Intel Mobo/CPU is top then.

Though it may cost less to upgrade now as my card will be worth even less later.

FarCry 4 is like 70-90FPS with all settings full inc NV Exclusive settings in game @ 1440p (does hit 105-120FPS in parts) but this is LCD so the high HZ panels are to try get same smoothness, motion and low input as CRT could do at 60-85HZ.

So on that note I suppose it would be better if doubled.

I'll be utterly amazed if they can be, they will have to double the ability of their flagship to compete, and that's against the 3080, not even the 3090 which is yet to come.

i dont really care for AMD to compete right at the very top. the 3090 or £1000+ bracket is for the 0.1% so long as they're competitive mid/highish ill be happy.
