Will have to see if developers take advantage of the storage speed and not have multiple identical assets stored to assist with load speeds etc.

Could potentially keep file sizes down but I'm not holding my breath on that one.
Devs seemed to have gotten damned lazy on the compression front of things. Cod War zone being the extreme example.

Horizon 2 coming on PS4 is mad. That means another game that isn’t using the SSD for anything other than faster loading.

Not too bad price wise but think I'll wait a year or so until some decent proper next gen games come out. Hopefully they'll have a better looking version by then as well.

Probably pick up a series s to tide me over

I was thinking the same - but... I've read a lot now suggesting the 1440p claim (by MS) for the Series S is purely aspirational. Many people looking at the Series S GPU spec are saying there's no way this thing will do more than 1080p/60.

I'm inclined to believe them. The Series S does look like a 1080p focused box, and some time soon I'm looking to upgrade my monitor to 1440p/100+.

I love the idea of the Series S especially at the price. But the GPU is seriously, seriously gimped. Less CUs, lower clocks, and less than 1/2 the GDDR memory speed.

Just pre-ordered on GAME as guest as it wouldn't let me log in to my account. Does this pretty much guarantee me one for launch, pre-ordering this early on? Never bought a console at launch before so just wondering.
