NVIDIA ‘Ampere’ 8nm Graphics Cards

3080 is still a great card, and much better value than anything from nvidia in years, be amazed if the 3090 is only 10% ahead, that just seems wrong, wonder if pcei3 was holding it back, will be interested to see alternative testing next week.
3070 will still provide great value next month.
I really hope AMD come in with something comparable, that'll really push along 1440p gaming, and indeed 4k too.

Nice congratz on getting it :)

May i ask when you were able to buy it? and who did you pay off?

I spammed hard on Thursday for the pailt one on ocuk. I knew from previous launches that palit is one of the few companies that sends a decent amount of cards to the UK. Plus Gibbo said in other thread it was in stock so didn't mess about just went for this one.

I'm really happy with it, the lights look great and reviews say it runs just as quiet as founders.

NV can only push me so far....:D
Now if it was 20-30% that would be better.

You still getting one?
Yeah man. Think about it, the 3080 is not far of double the performance, actual is even more in some games looking at benchmarks as I recall, all for £649.99 which is what I paid for the Asus TUF 3080. Basically it has cost me £200 on top of what I sold my Titan XP for. Not bad for double the performance no?

3080 just makes a lot more sense at £649 than 3090 at £1399. What exactly do you get for the extra £750? 10-15% extra performance and a bunch of extra VRAM you will likely not need? Way I see it is I can leave that £750 in my bank which will pay for a RTX 4080 which will absolutely smash the 3090 and I will have two cards for the same money and the latest gear for longer :D

Each to their own though ;)

You SOLD YOUR Titan!
That's Blasphemy and goes against everything Nvidia has taught you.
Take your leather coat off and wear a pac-a-mac from now on...SPLITTER :mad::mad::D:D:D:D

Finally decided to put an order in for 3080. Not expecting it till end of the year at the earliest but thought I might as well get in the queue. I’ll try to get a FE while I wait and also see what happens with the rumoured 20gb/ti/super version.

honestly as it stands id have waiting for amd to show their hand to see if prices get dropped or the rumoured super/tis suddenly turn up.

I’ve got nothing to lose having the pre order, yes they have my money but it would just sit in my account earning pennies anyway until I spent it on a new card. This way if nothing happens with amd and the rumours I’ve at least got a order in. They have made it easy to cancel the order and get a refund so I’ll just wait and see what happens in the next few months.
