Definitely going to get one, not in a crazy hurry as I do have a back log of games which could easily last me 6 months. I love my Pro, but Last of Us II is pushing the hell of out of it, like a jet engine last night so maybe sooner rather than later.

I've deliberately been avoiding the hyberbole to not get myself carried away, but will the PS5 play PS4 games? All titles or just specific AAA games as it were?

It should play almost everything, the exception being titles that use peripherals like Guitar Hero. Not sure about PS Move games either.

My PS+ just auto renewed despite me being pretty certain it was set not to. Oh well, guess I'll keep my PS5 pre-order then just to use it.

Yeah anytime you resub it turns on “auto renew” automatically afaik. And doesn’t tell you

Can't auto renew if you remove your card details from your PSN account though can it? I make sure I do this if I purchase anything digital with Sony's track record of PSN security...

No, you’re correct. If you have no payment options linked to your account, then it can’t auto renew.

edit. I use psn cards from amazon if I ever want to buy anything now.

It’s going to work a little differently depending on which system you opt for, as well as by headset model. Wired sets like the A10, A40 and A40TR will continue to use the 3.5mm port on both the Xbox and PlayStation controllers. Wireless rigs like the A20, the MixAmp Pro TR and A50 Wireless will work via USB with the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X; the latter system requires the headset to download a firmware update. For a full audio mix on the PS5, gamers will need to pick up an HDMI adapter from the company’s website for $40. Astro is offering a $15 discount on the adapter to current headset owners who register their serial number and email via its website.

For anyone wondering about their Astro. I love my A40s so glad I’m covered. Cancelling my order for the Pulse headset.

If I can use my Fiio K3 and DT990 pros via USB I will do, however the K3 didn't work on the PS3, so not holding out too much hope...

I'll probably end up buying the Pulse headset if it gets decent reviews. Maybe an astro mixamp set up but that means a seperate mic.

Is the 3d audio thing supported from the controller directly? That would be good to eliminate the need for external things. I use Fidelio X2's with a Vmoda mic and I can talk to people through the PS4 controller but it would be nice to not be restricted to stereo when I am playing.

Good point. I'll do this.
Amazon don't have discounts on PSN cards as far as I know. ShopTo and cdkeys have regular discounts up to 15%, for example ShopTo currently have a £50 card for £42.85.

Edit: The £45 card is £37.85 which works out better (15.88%).

I'd be happy with stereo audio from the controller headphone jack that doesn't sound awful, but I'm not getting my hopes up. It's a shame that they removed the optical out port to save a couple of quid, I have the Fidelio X2's connected to a DAC (FX-Audio DAC-X6) using an optical cable. It doesn't work over USB on the PS4 so I doubt the PS5 will, and I have no headphone port on my monitor. I might have no choice but to spend £100 or so on their new headset, which realistically is going to be a downgrade in audio quality.

That's a shame. I do have a Soundblaster G6 but I don't want to have to keep swapping it between my PS and PC.

Having not used my PSN account for years, since PS3, I logged in and its apparently banned, no idea why. Ah well....Xbox Series X it is! :p

Does it specifically say you're banned? I got a message saying my password was no longer valid and had to change it via an email link. But the problem is I don't have access to the email account to get the password reset link. Luckily, there was nothing of importance on there that I wanted.
