10GB of G6X has 760GB/s of Bandwidth which is extremely high and way overkill for every game out right now at 4k, I don't see 10GB of G6X not being enough until maybe 4 years where you'll want to upgrade anyways. Vram amount is not the same as Vram bandwidth.

So why then is pretty much every card that's coming out in the next few years (including the inevitable supers/Ti's, the already confirmed 3070's and 3080's, 3090, the 16gb+ amd cards) having much more? Seems like it'd be a gigantic waste of cash.
I'm aware bandwidth matters but 760GB/s isn't "extremely" high when last gen rtx2080 is over 500GB/s IIRC, and 2080ti pretty close. And I'm sure I've maxed memory usage in over 5 titles even today. For sure bf5, control and resi evil remake, off the top of my head. Small handful, but I don't even play much.

And this is just @ 4k, how the hell is an rtx3080 gonna manage the advertised 8k? or even 5k? Control has been shown to consume like 20gb @ 8k.

I've seen some benchmarks where the 3080, despite being 30-50% faster than the 2080ti in most titles, barely beats it in some others: Perhaps being help back by having to resort to using system memory? Despite having higer bandwidth? Doesn't make sense, but somethings holding it back in some titles.

Granted most of these games would be unplayable at 8k anyway, rather pointless (I mean how close u really gonna sit to your screen), as well as not many games needing it, even over 4 years.

So if your order confirmation email shows the watch dog promotion is it safe to say you are apart of the first 1000 cards going out?

No, more than 1,000 orders will show the promotion, you cannot assume anything just because the codes show on the order.

It's also pretty low to buy a card at launch (or festival ticket etc) with no intention of using it, then selling for an extortionate price, putting someone else out of pocket, just you can make a few quid. Selfish people.

Sorry but these ***ts get what they deserve. Horrible people.
If I had £1100 in the bank I might do the same to teach em a lesson, NOT because I'm desperate for a 3080 (I mean I am, I sold my 2080 and now have no pc).

Not defending scalpers (I hate them too) but scalping isn't illegal, however fraud is.

I don't understand what happened. I ordered at 2.20pm from the "E" store with "Next Day Delivery," displayed both on the item and in my order page and I've just had an email stating it may be November....

Eh?

Wish I had the cash to go for a 3090 right now if it ment getting a card faster being gpu’less atm I’m actually losing money waiting for this 3080 to get here

Made an account just to say thanks all for the information, and I'm here to join everyone on this wild ride.

I'm supposedly sub 200 per the calculator on my TUF OC, only time will tell. :)

I submitted my information as well.

What is the difference between Asus TUF and Asus TUF OC, apart of the 30 pounds price difference. Is OC, overcklockes by well overcklockers or is it like a special version made by Asus? Thanks. I have TUF on the order, no idea when I am going to get it, my order even does not start with 50....
