Why will it, it never happened with the 1080ti/2080ti, prices never dropped. Prices for 1080ti and 2080ti are still inflated.
They will drop, just like the 980 ti, etc, everythign will shift down 100 quid when the 3070 comes out etc and once the 3080 is widely available. Thing scale perfectly price / perf with 2nd hand market.

As of right now for auctions:
100-200(980ti), 300(1080ti), 400 (1080ti,2070supers),500-600(2080 supers..2080 ti) quid brackets.

Was listening to the bytesize tech youtube channel. The chap estimates that there were as few as 20000 3080 cards available wordwide on launch day. Perhaps not `quite`
a paper launch but pathetic effort.
The Unofficial queue position calculator is much appreciated and fun to use. I note that my position hasn`t changed in light of yesterday`s deliveries- so don`t be frustrated
by apparent lack of progress in your queue. OC are apparently working on their own version
Good luck to the peeps trying for a 3090 tomorrow. I won`t be trying. Can`t take any more disappointment.
Will there be a separate 3090 therapy thread or are we combining the two ?:)

I was reckoning between 10 & 30K based on figures, this sits slap in the middle. If OCUK had 1% of global availability and they had 100 cards as some say then its 10K global, but if its 300 cards they had at day one then it's 30K.

However there is a bigger point here, and that is the cards having been in production for over a month prior to launch, and if a months production (could be a month & a half) is only 20K cards, it's going to be a long long time before the backlogs are cleared.

well that’s a depressing thought...

Does anyone know when they are shipping the aorus RTX 3080 master I ordered mine on Thursday but it still hasn't shipped. It keeps saying order received - not yet shipped. Could it be shipping this week ?

presumably though, if they launch the 3090 tomorrow and the site goes down again, nobody is going to be able to get access to the “official” position calculator. Plus all the 3090 orders will need to go through the same process. So I suspect that means no official update on queue positions this week.

Hard to say though. There could be a ton of
PCBs made over that time and then other stages of the manufacturing process just have to be finished up.

Check this link for some insight into the manufacturing process.

OK now I`m even more depressed.....

OK now I`m even more depressed.....
I had a email yesterday from one of the guys at OC, they were replying to me from days ago,
He said...
"Everyone is placed into a queue and right now we do not have information on who is where in the queue but hopefully this week we will have some further information provided.

We have contacted NVIDIA and the graphics card manufacturers regarding the volume of cards sold on pre order. We will work closely with them to secure as much stock as possible and will keep you posted on the supply situation as soon as we can. You can check the latest updates from our Product Manager on the forums; https://forums.overclockers.co.uk/t...deliveries-how-to-cancel-your-order.18899277/"

So the official word about the que was "Hopefully"
Just got to wait it out...more lol

"rigorous GPU testing process that lasts a full half hour."
A FULL 30 minutes, not 1/2 30 minutes, but a full 30 minutes.
The claim is that each production line can produce 4000 cards per day and “P.C. nation alone” produced 400000 per month. Indicating multiple production lines per manufacturer. Plus a full half hour of testing isn’t that bad if you can do 250 tests side by side.

Edit: Unsure as to how that will translate for us, but if you were looking for some hope....
