FYI for the Gigabyte Vision card - I messaged Aorus on FB about stock, they've just replied...

They explained don't have an exact ETA, but stock is due to be landing in the next 2 weeks for the Vision card, just concluded by suggesting I check with OcUK for more precise dates. Not sure if that means it then goes into distribution shortly after, around then or if it should be with retailers at that point though. Didn't mention volumes either.

Wouldn't surprise me if that's more info than what they tell OcUK tbh :D

@Deluxe1 @Viirus @GuitarSlinger @Minato
Think you gents pre-ordered one didn't you?

That’s amazing cheers mate! Happy to wait it out.

Some other competitors who haven't sold any stock yet (They're waiting for them to all have them in and set it so they can't oversell) are price gouging the hell out of some of the cards way worse than OcUK has for prices right now.

Guess I'm just going to hold onto the non-OC Strix and hope Asus start allocating some production to them since right now all production are getting flashed with the OC Bios >.<

In the older days of multicoloured pcb gigabyte blue and ASU’s red etc I doubt it

.they have a reference design template that they follow to help with r&d costs but I expect all manufacturing is done by each company

I wonder how this 40 billion dollar acquisition of ARM is might impact the overall production process moving into the future. I think with the quest 2 coming out and our new remote work lives it is going to be interesting watching how things change.

I'd heard the EVGA cards have been removed, due to their ignoring the EU for now.

They have been unavailable for pre-order since at least Friday morning because EVGA have issued no information about deliveries to Europe at all.

I expect they will stay unavailable for pre-order until they start communicating again.

For now, it is reasonable to assume that all EVGA production is going to the US market.

I inquired about this, as my confirmation email didn't arrive till Monday.
OC told me "your order was already in the queue from when you placed your order on the 17th, the order confirmation was just delayed in sending due to the backlog"

Yeah, running it by order time, rather than number, since we have at least a few example of numbers that don't run linearly based on order time, seems like the way they'll HAVE to do it if they are trying to stick to first come first served. I do wonder if the complexity of sorting out an official calculator is that are having to tweak their usual systems to handle managing by time rather than number, since it seems quite possible that if they usually mostly line up that is how they usually run fulfilment.

Morning everyone, I'm wondering if one of you can help me, I've used the unofficial calculator but all it ever shows is that there are 1760 known buyers which I know is wrong from people being 2k plus in the queue so would one of you mind looking for me. Thanks :-D

Good news: Your number is very low, so the calculator would guess at you being very near the front of the queue as you saw yesterday. Bad news, if the time you gave yesterday was right (15:18) your number is one of those that don't fit the data the calculator is using for how order numbers grew, so it is useless for you (are you in Europe rather than the UK and actually got it in at 14:18 our time?).

I stick with my guess for you of somewhere in the 80-110 range based on plotting the data from the spreadsheet to graphs.

When we talk about 'price gouging' keep in mind that the original SRP was for initial launch stock only, I doubt that the resellers are able to buy stock anywhere close to a price that would let them sell at SRP any more.

This is also why I do applaud OCUK for keeping the pre-orders open and allowing people to lock-in a price and a place in the queue, while not going even close to some of the pricing that can easily be seen out there on other sites...

Why have i gone from 125 to 143? Surely cancellations, actual cards dispatched and bot removal should have the opposite effect. I really hope OCUK are honouring the 'first come, first served' promise.

At this stage I'd have hoped for the official queue tracker to be active, it's becoming frustrating just not having any real feedback from OcUk. I'm not cancelling but I'd like to have at least some sort of indication by now, I guess a lot of people feel the same :(

That queue is not official, as more people add their data your number will change. I dont know if it accounts for cancellations, dispatches etc

Hi thanks for looking it up for me, I'm in the UK and the 15:18 Is roughly the time I finished ordering and what it says In my orders page in my account

It's an UNOFFICIAL calculator - not made by OcUK. It has no tie-in to their actual database. It has no idea about cancellations, or already shipped orders. It is complete guess work.

Take what it says as a huge pinch of salt. The data varies as more people add their order data to it.

So, the 1760 known buyers is "people who entered their order into the sheet". The actual order numbers seem to indicate something closer to 10-13k orders in the first day alone (though we've heard since it may be closer to 7k). The estimator attempts to square that circle, and figure out how many actual orders are ahead - but it doesn't take cancellations or, y'know... the actual data into account. It's best-guess only.

Also you need to consider the brands, I feel too many people overlook this and worry about their overall position. I ordered at 16:35 and was around 3,800th in the queue (overall, not for my specific brand) and I picked my 3080 up yesterday, but it's because I ordered a Palit Gaming (one of the most unpopular) so I'd advise people not getting overly concerned with their overall position in the queue.

Obviously that won't help everyone as the majority ordered ASUS and MSI, but it's worth keeping in mind.

Edit: I don't know why I quoted your comment in hindsight! My comment still stands, but I think I was reading all comments and getting a general vibe that people are focussing a bit much on the overall position in queue.

How many Asus TUF (non OC) is coming to stock in October. Have OC managed to secure any cards with Asus? Which number in a que am I, I cant even check as I have funny looking sunday made conf order.

I just want to know if the KFA cards have an order placed that's on its way, Even if they have no idea when it lands in the UK. That would act least mean they have been in comms with the manufacturer, and not limbo like EVGA.

I don't mind waiting knowing its likely on the sea somewhere, but don't want to just sit and wait for something that hasn't even started the journey or been promised to be delivered.

Ok so I picked up my Palit 3080 at 5pm from OcUK HQ and got home around 6. Spend a couple of hours installing my new 850 PSU and then put the 3080 in, took the opportunity to clean my wiring up and re-order everything so I got finished up about 8:30pm.

First thing I did was run all the 3D Mark tests, I’m blown away by how my 1070 was a slideshow and this is so ridiculously smooth. I’ve then bought/installed Metro and Control to play around and they are both awesome, just as you’d expect.

However, and this is something I feel like you’re all going to experience, once you’ve done all that it really is just a GPU and at the end of the day I’m about to go back and play Elite Dangerous and probably some Doom. Both of those games were already getting amazing FPS on my 1070 and it feels like I’m back to normal now the excitement is over of installing everything and playing around.

I’m saying all this as I was just as excited as you guys, when I picked the card up my hands were actually shaking with excitement - my wife couldn’t believe how much of a nerd I was being! So I was just as excited as the most enthusiastic of you guys. But I’d encourage you to relax a bit, I know we’re all excited for the likes of Cyber Punk and so on, but a new 3080 really won’t change much in regards to your gaming habits once you’re past the first couple of hours of messing around.

If someone else wrote this sort of message while I was still waiting for my 3080 I don’t think it would have made me calm down, it was getting to the stage where I was considering buying one on all our favourite auction website and cancelling my order. I’m so, so glad I didn’t as I’d have felt a bit silly once the adrenaline burned off.

I’m coming from a 1070 and the 3080 do I’m not saying it’s not an awesome upgrade is definitely worth the wait, if you’re coming from the older 10XX range you’re going to see a massive improvement and your e-peen with your gaming circle will be inflated a bit. But even if this post just helps one of you take a breath and realise a big part of all this is being wrapped up in the hype and you question what the new 3080 will change in how you’re playing games you’ll realise it’s not a great deal and it may help you relax a bit.

Haha yea that is exactly how it is when I buy new GPU, well I don't get quite as excited as you it seems :D ...but it is always nice to get new hardware. I get this effect with a lot of hardware upgrades though as I never actually keep anything so long it actually becomes slow enough to cause me any issues though, I upgrade before it gets to that stage (also so my old GPU still has some value, although this time I don't plan to sell my 1080Ti on as I want it for my second system) While I do play some newer games that are much more demanding and will benefit from this, certainly I want to see what RTX is like, they are just transitory experiences, i,e, can be completed like Shadow of the Tomb Raider etc, most of my game time currently is being spent on Elite Dangerous like you and will be World of Warcraft again soon, neither of which will benefit in the least from a 3080, my 1080Ti is overkill for them even and I used a 3440x1440 144hz monitor. Once the new shiny wears off it is just a GPU that I wont notice the difference with for the vast majority of my game time. But hey, to me at least, it's worth 'something' just knowing that should I really want to, I 'could' run the latest and greatest at 4K with all the things ...even though I probably wont.

Agreed - we're now a week after launch some official data would be nice
