Don’t get me wrong, I totally understand. I’m mainly trying to talk myself out of doing the same thing. My son ordered an MSI Gaming Trio X for his 21st Birthday with some money I gave him. I feel so bad for him that he may have to wait ages, or not get it at all, that I’m very tempted to see if I can get him a 3090 instead and he can cancel the 3080 order

And they say you can’t buy love lol

A competitor mentioned on twitter that they have an MSI shipment coming in either this Friday or early next week. Would not be suprising for that to also be the case with OC. As for existing shipments one person in this thread mentioned his Ventus getting shipped on Monday, I think he ordered at round 14:30pm.
Cheers, thats hopeful!

I have found an interesting CS tweet from a competitor answering a customer re his pre-order, in the UK. The competitor doesnt print but they S**n.

"hi guys, you cant look at it like that. Order numbers are incremental to a degree, but that is for everything on the website, not just RTX cards. We have LESS than 500 pre orders outstanding on nearly ALL of the 3080 models. We will be sharing more info this afternoon"

So this may also apply to OC? Not all order numbers placed at that time were for cards? Meaning our fictional calculator may not be as accurate as we would like, (although we know to give it wiggle room).

It will do but i cant really see people struggling with the ocuk website for a few hours because they were desperate to buy a 1tb hard drive. I would have just given up and tried again later. that evening.

They already told me on phone yesterday - they have about 7k ish 3080 orders... also told me they had approx 1700x ASUS, 1700x MSI, 1300x GB Eagle, 60x Palit OC in the queue atm.

That was yesterday. They have been working through the orders to boot botters out since then. I have seen twice now on tweets sent out today they have really no more than 500 of each card, no where near thousands. As they stopped Pre-orders also when they was getting swamped

And that was their entire pre ordered stock until Christmas!!! Compared to OCUK 7000 orders.

They really arent planning on getting many in per week if 500 was everything until xmas. That's about 50 cards per week.

From what Gibbos has said, ocuk has already shipped more than 500 cards on day 1!

That maybe the case, but I know when the 2070S was released, I ordered from both retailers, and both again had stock issues in a much smaller scale. Guess which one came first and guess which one got refunded

I'm talking about OcUK not the competitor.

i've cancelled my order for the TUF made around 2pm on the 18th - thinking about it i don't really want a company holding a considerable amount of my money without any idea when it will be delivered. patience is a virtue and all that.

Not sure anyone asked.

Good luck getting your card.

I notice there's been nobody in the thread today celebrating getting a dispatch email, I wonder if there was no new stock today (or it all went to people who don't use the forum I suppose)

Hopefully OCUK will put us out of our misery soon so we can stop speculating

so im 3rd on the unoffical que... was 4th when i first checked. moved to 3rd and hasnt moved since saturday. EAGLE OC i ordered. :) #PatientlyWaiting

No that will come after tomorrows site crash u bet :D

I don't think it will be practical to not have one after tomorrow. People will be losing their ****.
Something, ANYTHING, is better than nothing my friend. From an outside perspective it just looks like OC are taking money hand over fist for preorders and staying silent without giving people any real meaningful updates on stock.

Even if OC came out tomorrow and said "Look, we have no idea when stock is coming in, that's the truth, we have been in contact with vendors and it could be anywhere between now and next year, we really have no idea" then at the very least people will know what to prepare for, it just seems like they won't say that because it will obviously stop people preordering when they don't have any real hope to hold on to.

The truth is, once someone has preordered and stock refills remain in limbo and the small chance remains that they may still get one this year, people stay hopeful and keep their orders locked in which means OC have money in their bank through little more than the fear people have of not getting one before christmas.

Doesn't feel right to me.

If they say they have no idea when they're getting stock two things will happen. People will cancel pre-orders and people will be reluctant to place new orders. From a business sense, this is a smart move from OC.
