Hi
I know this is probably a bit difficult but can someone give me an idea of when i would receive a 3080 if i preordered it now?

i was going to wait for 3070 and still cannot decide - does anyone have any thoughts as to if the stock shortages are going to be better/same/worse when the 3070 comes out in a couple of weeks time?

As someone who currently games at 1080 60fps, I'm trying to upgrade to 1440p 144hz and asking myself the same question. I have a 3080 on backorder (roughly 300th in queue) but depending on the 3070 numbers at 1440p I may end up cancelling and swapping to the 3070 or 6900xt!

Probably depends on the brand you order. Some brands I prioritising other countries first. I would think whatever brand you go for it will be at least December to get a 3080. 3070 are an unknown. They could potentially be made in larger quantities as presumably the lower speed variants are easier to make.

There will be 3080 20GB,3070,3070 Ti and a 3060 Ti in October + AMD's new cards.I think this stupid shortage and demand will soon settle down.

Is there any news on supply of RTX 3070 yet? Also tempted by one assuming figures are as expected but could be waiting 3 months at the rate things are going?
I think 3 months might be a optimistic expectation considering the **** show the 3080 launch has been.

I think that with the new delay on 3070 (and likelihood that bots will nab the lions share), 3080 issues and ongoing stock shortages, i’ll wait until December or January. I’ve upgraded my power supply in readiness but for now will carry on with my 1070

3 months? now come on,that's amost like half way into lifespan of the card..it's not going to be that bad.everyone will be able to get whatever new card they want by end of the year.

Yaaaaaay got my ASUS TUF queue position. Ordered at 3pm on 18th (day after launch).

*drumroll*

1004!!

**** off queue jumpers.

If a 3070 is faster than a 2080 Super (and it should be), that would be fine for Forza @4k/60fps. A 3080 will be more future proof if you're a less frequent upgrader, especially if you're planning on playing Cyberpunk.

Stock is a mess and I suspect manufacturing resources are being focussed on 3080 production. I wouldn't expect the stock situation for the 3070 to be much better tbh, but the new date might be to improve launch-day availability. If you order a 3080 now, expect thousands of people in the queue ahead of you.

If you can comfortably afford the 3080 there's no reason not to get a 3080 over the 3070 for that dual channel memory. Essentially as time goes by the performance gap between the 3070 and 3080 is only going to increase. Speaking about stock would be pure speculation and it very much depends on the card you decide to go with more so than the version but ultimately whether you get the card in a week or a month shouldn't really factor into your decision since (I presume) you'll be using this card for a couple of years at least. The 3070 is a good card don't get me wrong and excellent price point but if you can afford the 3080 its the better choice imo.
