Thank you ! I can live with 10% at 1440p. I have ultra wide so I am guessing bottleneck will be between 5 and 10%. I really need to upgrade 2nd monitor.

It's not that bad. If you're in a position to do so, might be worth upgrading the CPU once the new Ryzen's drop. Even low end Ryzen will outperform a 6700k at that point.

i really can’t encourage you strongly enough to pause for the 3000 series GPU. I am like you, moved from Laptop with 2070MaxQ which provided a fantastic gaming experience and desperate to get the final piece of a PC new build. The issue your going to have in a matter of 20-30 days the 2070S is going to be massively superseded by the 3000 series. The 3070 is as strong (apparently) and same price or maybe less, as a 2080Ti (which again is significantly stronger than a 2070S. Find a way of either A. Waiting or B. Pausing gaming for a short period if laptop finally gives up the ghost. Buyer remorse will ensue otherwise.

I've water cooled all my cards so far however I always feel a sense of disappointment after as you go from a lovely big heavy and intricated piece of air cooled hardware to, well, something thats not! Who am I kidding though, its inevitable!

My GTX1080FTW was the first GPU I had NOT water cooled in years and I've always regretted not doing so with the amount of heat and noise it generates. It's not always about overclocking as I'm sure you already know.

Only one order is mine, I ordered at 6.13 am and somehow another customer ordered like 7 hours later and somehow 30ish less in the que?? And order number lower than mine.

I am actually skipping water cooling this time for the 3080. I had originally intended to but the fiasco of actually getting one has led me to spending much more than planned. Don’t want to spend anymore on a block. Back to CPU only for me.

It seems that the botched launch of the RTX30xx series is driving the price of the older 20xx series up on Ebay with people paying over £600 for new RTX 2070 super, and prices of used ones North of £350 which is more than they were fetching pre launch date announcement. This seems to be a knock on effect of stock shortages and people bailing out too early, I expect that when stock does being to flow, prices of these cards is going to collapse.

Yeah it’s crazy. People happily paying higher prices for older cards.

Proves how little patience a lot of people have. It’ll be interesting to see how quick the 3070 sells out....

I think they are still going to sell like hot cakes and NVIDIA knows this, that’s why they delayed the launch.

If the benchmarks are true 2080Ti performance for £470 is still brilliant value.

Not sure where you get the information from, but Display port 1.4 will do 4K at 120Hz, and 10 colour HDMI 2.1 will give 4K at 120Hz and 8K at 60 Hz with a maximum of 10K possible. Dvi went out years ago, superceded by dual dvi which has also been obsolete for some time. Maybe time to sell the old monitor and buy a newer one?

1.4 with DSC also will do 144hz @4k with 10 bit and hdr if I'm not mistaken

MSI Gaming X Trio ordered 22:26 on the 30 Sept. Queue No. 1412. This is the latest order I have seen posted, so hopefully gives people some sort of reference.

Ouch. That is a big number. Makes me wonder when the TUF non-OC orders passed the Trio orders, since on the 30th they were hitting 1882. Maybe I'll plot a graph or two later.

HAHA yeah telling me about it. I've just rebuilt mine with all the old components but in a new case with a distroplate and gone hardline tubing for the first time. The cost was higher than anticipated because the port spacing in my radiators did not match the distoplate so required two new radiators for the build I had in mind. You don't know these things until you start the build.

I still can’t quite believe the ludicrous money people are paying for FE cards. Double if not triple the price. Some people just have far more money than sense.

If I’m being brutally honest part of it’s probably jealousy as I wish I had that much disposable income to overpay/waste....
