Well this is really not good. You need PS+ to play Godfall even if you're playing on your own. What are Sony playing at?
You only need psplus to play co op.

however, you need to be online to play solo mode. Psplus isn’t required for solo mode, just a connection to the internet.

AS VG247 reports, a tweet from the official Godfall account later confirmed that this isn't a mistake and you'll need an active internet connection in order to play. The game offers both a single-player and a "drop-in drop-out" cooperative play mode for up to four players. If you want to play in co-op mode, you'll also need PS Plus.

Just because it's a change, silly reasons like its A,B not X,O etc, the fact the controller is different albeit still comfortable. I've had every PS since it was a thing and it just feels weird stepping away I guess. I suppose I just need to look at the game prices to help me forget that!

I'm fully aware how silly these reasons are.

I'm so glad someone else fessed up to it! I feel the same way, but it's not swaying me from jumping ship to the XSX.
RT and RB instead of R1 and R2 will also confuse :D

You know that next gen games on both platforms are £70 right? Not everything is on GamePass, only first party exclusives (of which there are currently....none) and old third party games that chop and change all the time? I thought the same thing and grabbed a 1X last year with the gamepass £1 thing, played Hellblade and realised there was nothing else I wanted!

For me, until Halo Infinite releases there is no reason to grab an XSX. Even that might not be worth it unless they really pull their finger out.
It does seem to have much much better backwards compatibility.

We still don't know if PS4 games like bloodborne will run at 60fps on the ps5. Demon's souls remake is good and all but with proper backwards compatibility we could have just had the original at 4k/60 for free/using the ps3 copy. If ransoms can make an emulator that does this for PC surely Sony can, seems lazy imo.

Backwards compatibility is really not an easy thing to implement. Also it's a feature everyone seems to want but rarely ever uses. The majority of people might try an old game for ten minutes then realise its dated.

Pcs can play games decades old but there is only a handful of people (older people) who try old games for nostalgia.

Don't get why people still bash Sony with this stick, history shows they don't really care for it.

They won't suddenly change and implement backwards compatibility

Pretty much, it's nice to have but doesn't get used as much as people think.

Early gen when there's not a lot of next gen titles about and those that are wont really blow you away it's great.

But give it a year or two when the gen starts to hit it's stride and not many will be wanting to use it.

I've had the emails from Amazon about the release date coming forward to the 12th. Going to be painful with two games staring at me with no console.

I was dreaming about PS5 stock last night. Sony showed a graph which had 200,000 units going to the whole of Europe to March 2021 and 10 million going to North America. So anyone who doesn’t have one on por-order and doesn’t live in NA would have to wait until after Easter.

Just for the games you mean or the console itself?

I agree, very strange the games are apparently releasing before the system but maybe it's a side effect of different release dates in various countries and trying to sync physical releases with games also being available digital on the ps store.

Whilst I agree, historically BC hasn't been used as much as some would suggest, but then it also hasn't added an awful lot to each game - BC on the XsX seems to improve the games vastly, with higher resolutions, higher framerates, anisotropic filtering, and HDR..........the fact that the current splurge of "remasters" are selling so well would indicate that there definitely is a market for people replaying these older games (but that we're all gfx whores).

I want to replay a whole franchise when a new game comes out, so being able to do that with more eye candy is a huge bonus for me - I'll be replaying the Fable and Halo series as soon as I get a chance........and I might even finish the Halo series before Halo Infinity gets released! :D

I would also add that the jump between each concole generation is becoming more and more incrimental (rather than generational), and I really don't think that many late PS4 or XB1 games will look that dated on the PS5 or XsX........at lkeast, not in the same way as they would have between previous console iterations.

All this new power and still stuck at 30 fps for graphics mode. Ray tracing seems a few years too early.
Yes, I'm not entirely convinced that the benefits of ray tracing are worth the performance hit they seem to take.......hopefully, when developers get use to it they can optimise to take advantage of it better.

Me neither, its only really becoming acceptable on a 3080/3090, never mind the consoles.

But its good we seem to be getting the option of different modes on the consoles, like Graphics vs Performance on the spider man game and others. :)

Similar to how destiny works for example, without ps+ you can solo the story but anything that requires more players you require ps+ to play.

Outcry over?..
Indeed. I don’t know why people were thinking you needed psplus to solo the game, that would be crazy. :/
