*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

Another day on the forums - only about another 90 left before we get our cards! We need local support groups - anyone live near Surbiton? I can book the local church hall where we can share our stories. We can get through this together guys!
Hi, my name is Daz... And I have an F5 addiction :(

Last week there were some TUF's delivered and a few people reported their Ventus' being sent out...Fingers crossed theres some Ventus' in the post this week too! xD ( not sure why theres not many "This card coming in today" posts recently... maybe there genuinly isnt much stock coming in? )

Guys, its been emotional. Have found the Gigabyte Vision card I am after from a competitor and will recieve tomorrow (honestly!)
Due to not knowing what the restock situation looks like for OcUK (and that a number of compettors are getting the Vision which is my prefered card while OcUK have no news) I have ellected to cancel. 7 in queue, someone else can enjoy.
On a seperate note it was also £30 cheaper....
Will post a pic for the doubters tomorrow on reciept.

So OC said they will send out queue position updates when they get stuff in. Will they only be sending it out to the people who have TUF cards. It seems pointless to send it out to people with MSI cards etc if theyre only sending out ASUS cards TUF cards.

How can you be sure? Because you're wrong about them making interest on the money they've taken. Just google instant access business acounts.

You're not entitled to anything more than being in a queue for a GPU. Nobody has a crystal ball to tell you when you're going to get one. Wait patiently for the email while reading the various updates from AIBs or cancel.

Nobody's suggesting they have a crystal ball but how can competitors give updates that OC cannot when they have said multiple times they will get stock first! - IF they actually have no idea which it looks like then they should refund and keep a holding deposit for those that are happy to wait indefinately. Some people have paid for these on credit cards etc and will be attracting interest on something they don't even know if they will receive this year. If OC don't have all that money in a savings account then they for sure are missing a trick and having met a few of their staff i know they're not stupid. They are going to be holding on to that money for a while :)

Time is marching on and they've had enough time to liase with their partners/suppliers. They should be able to give ROUGH estimates of numbers and timescales. That is unless they're not as big of a player as they make out. I'm stuck with OC for this purchase it seems but it will be the last of my hard earned they receive :(

Is the support group because of Surbiton or the GPU situation. Having been to Surbiton both could apply.

Nobody's suggesting they have a crystal ball but how can competitors give updates

Because, so far, the competitors updates have been innaccurate or missing. Looking at Reddit, there are as many threads about how people feel like they're not being talked to by $Competitor1, or how $Competitor2 is a complete scam and has taken all the monies, or...

A mate sent me a picture of one of the estimate tables with every visible expected shipment for this week marked as "Delayed until next week" (bar Asus, I think).

Just saying, grass is always greener - no one seems to be treating customers as they'd like, here (bar, I think, one company in Germany that seemed to be giving very verbose updates). And I blame Nvidia. ;)

It doesn't work like that. If suddenly EVGA announce they wont have any cards in the UK until Feb, a lot of people will cancel. OC need to be able to refund instantly, they need an instant access account.

If somebody bought something they can't afford on a credit card, it makes no difference to them financially if they recieve the product in a week, a month or longer. They're still in debt.

No retailer is providing numbers and timescales. You are asking for something that doesn't exist.

As far as I'm aware, OC are the only ones to provide queue positions and updates to that. You are not entitled to anything more. GPUs are not a basic human right, it's not food or water. Get used to the idea that you will be waiting months for a GPU or cancel your order for your own sanity.

I hope so too :D

A lot of the 'updates' elsewhere are more about hope and belief than 'fact' and they get changed when the cards don't turn up.

Gibbo has said from the start that he would only post updates on what he knows to be arriving, so no guesses and no false hope.

IF they actually have no idea which it looks like then they should refund and keep a holding deposit for those that are happy to wait indefinately. Some people have paid for these on credit cards etc and will be attracting interest on something they don't even know if they will receive this year.

Using a credit card to float something you can't afford to pay for is a personal choice, not a requirement. As for taking deposits to hold a queue position, that just results in multiple orders from different retailers and inflated queue lengths. Taking full payment allows OCUK to show the reality of their order queue when negotiating with the suppliers.

If OC don't have all that money in a savings account then they for sure are missing a trick and having met a few of their staff i know they're not stupid. They are going to be holding on to that money for a while :)

Interest on business cash accounts is as close to zero as makes no difference, less than £2/million/day, so nobody is getting rich on that. The cash payments are a liability, not an asset, until converted into a delivered sale.

It has nothing to do with how big OCUK are or how much they talk to the suppliers, the whole supply chain is in meltdown and nobody can accurately predict even roughly when a particular retailer is going to receive a particular quantity of a particular card right now.

Ultimately the choice remains yours, stay in the queue and wait, or get a refund and go hunting for stock at random outlets for the next few months.

You might get lucky in the next few days, or you may be hunting long after your queue number came up at OCUK, it boils down to 'Do you feel lucky..'

Business accounts don't work like that. They hold the balance in an instant access account which then offests any loan interest, so if you have £500K load, and have £100K in the business account you only pay interest on £400K.
