I think there's a shortage of cards I've not had mine yet. It's funny because I ordered on the day but still don't have it. I hope I'm not the only one.

It has nothing to do with how big OCUK are or how much they talk to the suppliers, the whole supply chain is in meltdown and nobody can accurately predict even roughly when a particular retailer is going to receive a particular quantity of a particular card right now.'

Then why did they mention it as a reason to buy from them? They said it not us, and other places are getting cards in stock quicker, no harm in pointing that out.

I'm going to forget that I've ordered the msi gaming x trio by the time I receive it. It's just going to turn up one day and I will look at it and say ah yeah I forgot I ordered that

Nothing has been confirmed regarding email update process, but I'd guess it works:
  • If a batch of cards arrives, they'll distribute the received cards and email out to people on that card list with new position based on fulfilled orders and cancellations.
  • If no new stock arrives, even if you're position improves (drop outs) then there's no benefit to getting an updated email as they've not any cards to distribute.
Since the bulk emails went out last week, I've only seen updated on the TUF gaming cards. So unless you're on that list, you won't hear anything. I'm as frustrated as everyone but it's a waiting game. As time goes by, orders are fulfilled, people will cancel, people will get cards from competitors and people will also change to 3070s or Navi so the positions should drop quicker than order fulfilment. I'm in the queue but I'm looking elsewhere daily to get hold of one.

Sure, size helps, and confirmed paid orders helps too, when negotiating for allocations, but you were trying to argue that because they are not posting estimates of numbers and timescales that means they are not as big a player as they said they were. In that regard it really doesn't matter. If the supply chain is not operating 'normally' then it just isn't possible to predict much beyond what you know is inbound today/tomorrow.

Small batches of cards will pop-up elsewhere, the expectation though is that over time the retailers with the largest confirmed order queues should do better in terms of their total allocations.

Just have to decide if you believe that or not, if not then just cancel and go elsewhere.

I'm not too fussed about the wait - everyone waiting is getting pushed to AMD's launch of the new GFX cards - if they are stellar I'm pretty sure we'll not have an Nvidia queueing issue!

Hopefully AMD bringing out new cards will make the demand for our cards a lot more bareable. Also im a bit of a NVIDIA fan boy tbh, so I wouldnt bother with AMD anyway. Ive had a lot of issues with my prev AMD cards, drivers never seem to agree with me and always caused issues.

Don't shoot me for my opinion but I have a feeling AMD will throw a lot of resource to sort the driver issues out... they have a MASSIVE opportunity to eat Nvidia's lunch here and they will want to give people every opportunity to jump ship.... that's my hope anyway!

After dealing with my 5700XT I won't be buying big navi, they can't even fix the current cards let alone the new ones

Hey ROG Fam,

We are aware that RTX 3080 and RTX 3090 cards significantly exceeded demands, which can cause frustration for many who have been looking forward to our new cards.

So we'd like to show you some measures we've already taken to ensure that all the GPUs we're getting into the right hands as soon as possible: yours!

✅ Delivery without detour
All available GPUs will be assembled and tested on our cards asap (up to 144 hours). Afterwards, the finished cards are delivered directly from the factory to the UK. So some stopovers are eliminated and we save valuable time.

✅ From real gamers...
Our graphics cards are designed for PC gaming. We have no interest in them being used for anything other than gaming. We therefore only deliver our RTX 3080 and RTX 3090 cards to shops that we know sell directly to private customers.

✅... for real gamers
We recommend the shops we work with to issue only one card per customer. In addition, trusted accounts are preferred.

What's next?

Due to the enormous demand, which even exceeded the highest expectations, we have to ask for a little patience.

We are constantly bringing in new stock as frequent as possible. Please ensure that you’ve signed up for notifications with your preferred retailer to place your order so you're not disappointed.

We hope you can all understand that we are doing everything in our power to get the new cards to you guys as soon as possible.

ASUS Republic of Gamers
Hi Callum, all Strix, TUF, OC and non-OC are all coming at the same time. All being produced equally)

So you probably don't need to worry and speculate about the production of the shipment etc. Just wait patiently :)

I'm in the queue for Asus GeForce RTX 3080 TUF Gaming in place 1882 with email from OC, but I think it has changed because a few posts were from people who are resigning so I'm waiting patiently and not complaining that long, in the end and sooner or later I will get what I ordered

Everyone talking about Strix supply but where's the Gigabyte Gaming OC's, at least for OCUK this card has a relatively small queue and was/should have been available from launch. I haven't checked everywhere else but I don't know why it'd be vastly different, I would have thought cards with less demand would fill out the orders quicker than ones like TUF that has a queue of thousands.

this isn't fact just my opinion, I was watching a tube vid about the capacitor problem and the guy was stripping down various cards and checking the caps, the Gigabyte gaming oc (which I also have on order) was the worst with all six of the caps the cheaper ones, I was extremely surprised as I have come to expect excellence from Gigabyte, but hey ho, anyway I get the feeling the pulled them and are upgrading them, so we wait.

Am doubtful about that... GB use 470 caps which are better than the "cheaper ones"... also MLCC are actually cheaper, just more expensive to assemble on the board. Anyway, more likely GB would halt production to sort out the power connector issue, which could "in theory" cause a fire rather than just affect performance.
