*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

Did anyone notice by the way that Gibbo stated he shipped out three types of card that there has never been any mention of them being delivered?

Yes, but was that a poor, ok, good, adequate, big or large sized batch? Hard to tell what we're dealing with . The recipient may not even be in here...

Why? (specifically)

Just look at Youtube reviews the tracking sux compared to the index and oculus its overpriced, your be better off spending a little bit more and getting the index

Bit off topic talking about this in the thread there is a VR section...End of the day its up to you

Sorry mods for going OT

Why? (specifically)

Off topic but I'd echo the other guy in avoiding it.

The Cosmos was pretty infamous for a poor choice, being far too expensive and not at at all competitive with other PC VR HMDs that often do a better job for cheaper.
IIRC it has poor tracking and crap software, but I can't remember the specifics. Might have been improved since release but in VR enthusiasts circles it's pretty much a definite avoid.

The Quest 2 is cheaper and getting good reviews, the HP Reverb 2 is more expensive but has got good reviews, PC VR focused and good resolution.

I don't get why it's so hard for OcUK to copy what "one of their competitors" has done and show us when they are expecting deliveries to arrive for each brand, take it a step further and show us for each model as well.

This is going to be the last time I'm using OcUK quite frankly. I always preferred them to the competitors but the way they are handling the communications regarding this is terrible.

I only paid £450 for it (refurbished), which made it only marginally more expensive than the HTC VIVE. I'd agree that if I had to pay MSRP for whichever one I went for, I wouldn't have been paying £700+ for it....or any VR set for that matter.

One definite consideration was that because it's PC driven rather than containing android hardware i.e. a Snapdragon SOC, I can upgrade my son's graphics card at a later date and see improved performance/future proofing etc. Rather than being stuck with a fixed level of performance i.e. like a games console.

Agreed. I love paying for a product and waiting 3 weeks with no information, really good customer service /s

For anyone else who ordered the KFA2 3080 I contacted support 5 days ago and got a reply this morning

"
Dear Customer ,

Thank you for reaching KFA2 customer service .
Sorry for keep you waiting .
Please note that shipment will be out by end of Oct .
Best Regards
KFA2"

I had asked if a shipment had been made to the UK yet. So unsure if it'll reach the UK by the end of October or if it'll just be shipped then and we'll have to wait another month or so until it's delivered.

Anyone bought a prebuilt system from OCUK just to grab a 3080? If so what card was in it? My mate bought one the other day from a competitor without knowing what brand card was going to be in it and he got it delivered very next day with a Palit card.

Makes you wonder doesnt it, might show how little card stock they are sourcing. I've cancelled my order and will go hunting elsewhere.

@Gibbo any ETA on GIGABYTE EAGLE OC 3080's? cheers!
The Eagle is now extinct in Stoke on Trent and surrounding area. Seems to be reasonably prevalent elsewhere but an Eagle has not been spotted in these parts for some time. They may be here but we are not sure, maybe they have changed habitats. Rumour is that they have started living in prebuilds only but nothing has been confirmed.
Gibbo himself has not been spotted too often either, maybe he is trying to track the eagles or maybe he is trying to avoid them.

I hope 1 eagle shows up as then I may actually be given a confirmed place in the queue 3 weeks after I ordered it.

Why? (specifically) The reviews seems positive and I'd given it a spin on several different games without any issues.

The only potential issue I've read about is where it can sometimes get confused spatially depending on the lighting in the room because it uses headset mounted cameras rather than traditional base stations to work out where the user is and what direction they're facing.
I agree with his comment - the Cosmos has had terrible reviews, specifically over it's abysmal controller tracking. I can't say I've seen a positive review. I'd consider the HP Reverb G2 launching (hopefully) at the end of October/early November.

I ordered on the 24th and was told I am nearly at 300 in the queue

On the 3080 Vision? Thats odd because I have several data points in the spreadsheet with high 30s for that card on the 26th.

I ordered yesterday at around 11am. So they send queue numbers on a weekly basis?

I may just stick in my queue since they did send some Asus TUFs at some point which is good. I'll likely just try the refresh lottery and buying it somewhere else if I can then cancelling my order here if I get it.

Thanks for the help!

There has only been one batch of emails so far sent out last Friday. In it they said "we will send an update after each shipment with your new position", but there has been no sign yet of another batch after yesterday's shipments. So, we don't know. I'd hope they will either send out a batch today or tommorow to the queues that have moved, or everyone tomorrow, but till it happens we are just guessing.
