For the 5900x it says: Maximum Frequency 4.95 GHz.
What cooling are you using for your 3950x please?
i'm leaning into this idea too.Agreed - this is also my plan.

Only if your use case actually needs the extra cores. The 5900x makes a lot of sense for £ x core x clock speed. Also ready have a flip for my silver rated 3700x for a couple of hundred, excited.

maybe PBO actually works this time around. For the 5900x it says: Maximum Frequency 4.95 GHz.

i'm in the process of building an AM4 media PC which was supposed to get a 4700G... so i might end up moving quickly on a 5xxxX CPU so I can use my 3600 in the media PC (and finally get the damn thing working).Yep I am also but I can sit on my 3700x for a while until they come down in price!
no need for sensible hats, MOAR CORES = BETTER!
