*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3090 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

I think when there's possibly a 3 month wait for someone to receive a product that they pay for today and there's no obvious communication or warning when they place said order then we are bordering on some dodgy possibly unethical business practices here. Not everyone frequents the OC forums, many people just order from the website in good faith, as far as I know there are no warnings there saying you will be looking at a very long wait.

Personally, I'm number 2 for the 3090 Strix so mine will be here sooner than most. I just feel sorry for the poor people ordering today or recently.
It still says preorder almost a month later which immediately should raise some questions, and it says under the add to basket button that it's in high demand. Seems like warning enough to me

Its still too vague, considering OC aren't confident they will even clear current orders until next year, then they need to be more transparent. Again, like I said, not everyone ordering from OC will be reading these forums. Where you can get a better idea of how large the pre-order queues actually are.

Is school out already?
Evidently given you're online

How transparent can they be? They can't really say when it'll be cleared or anything to that effect

Have these sites had the exact same deliveries as OCUK so far? I really don't want to do any more work than I do already
I've only had my eyes on the Asus deliveries but there appears to be some correlation between OCUK receiving stock and a.n.other receiving stock. This is based on comments from folk on this forum where people have said that they've either had notification of their order being sent out or that their queue position has advanced. To be clear I'm not saying the sizes of the deliveries are the same but the date that different retailers receive stock seems to coincide.

Clicked and done.
No more of you ;)
What a sad little man

Asus have made no announcement stating none OC cards will be made and are still requesting resellers to setup and take orders for none OC products
From Gibbo in the allocation thread. I think this is worth noting for those complaining about pre-orders still being available.
This works the same way a standard brick and mortar shop must still display products that are currently unavailable, because that's what the company whose product they're selling expects from them in order to stock their goods

They can still display it, like everywhere else does just mark it as out of stock (which it is) or have a caveat that if you pre order now you will enter a long queue that isn’t expected to be cleared until the new year.

the pre order tab could have been an add to basket button 5 minutes before someone clicked it for all they knew.
As pointed out above, you can’t assume everyone frequents the forums

Display is different from pre-order. Look at the “Other” site it is still displaying without taking orders and they have had about as much stock as OC if not more.
So yeah what your saying is bull.

@deuse is mentally unstable - ignore him and move on

And on other sites you have to
a) know when they're getting stock
b) know when they're putting said stock up for sale
c) scramble to be one of the 10 people to buy the stock. If you aren't, then be prepared to repeat the process

Neither is a "good" system, but at least here you can fire and forget and you'll get your card in accord with when you decided you wanted to buy it. Imagine you've been trying to get one since launch and then a month later someone gets one in one of these stock drops and they just decided to buy the day before. You're in no better a situation than any of us who bought from OCUK, with the added layer of stress and time investment

Also, having worked retail most of my adult life so far, up until a year ago, we sure as **** tried to sell things we didn't have stock of. If it was so much as "available whenever", we would sell.
True of any place I worked

I appreciate the latest update from Gibbo. I think it answers a lot of common questions. It really isn't his fault that supply is so limited. I prefer to be able to preorder and wait. Much better than the daily F5 madness.

Which is fine, but there should be a statement to explain the situation on the product page

I get what your saying retail IS sell sell sell.
I worked at McDonalds in my younger days and they would sell things like mcflurrys and milkshakes even if we had run out of the mix they would send someone to buy milk so if you have ever had a McFlurry that didn’t taste of anything but milk that’s why.
That’s not even mentioning running out of onions or ketchup which would then be bought from local supermarket but we weren’t allowed proper knives so you got some chunky ass onion.
The only thing I’m saying is bull is the fact OC HAVE to to be able to get stock if that’s the case why aren’t the others?
But like you said none of them are good systems I was just pulling you up on the fact that OC has to do it to be able to get stock.

Yeah I kinda blurted that out without thinking about it
But hey, you know what they say. Never let minor things like "the truth" get in the way of a good argument

Same although I really want the Strix OC.
I was in the same boat but was really lucky to be in the right place and right time yesterday and bagged a FE card - I have thought since - did I do the right thing - but I realised I am not a big overclocker and only casually game and so the factory added OC on the Asus probably won't really make much difference to my work (which is my primary use for the card). I have a 2080Ti ROG ASUS now though and its been brilliant so I guess it was brand loyalty that made me want the Asus but I do love the look of the FE so I think it will be prefect for my needs.
