*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

Last Saturday I was told at 10am the then current Queue for the Zotac Trinity OC was 23, I ordered one in the afternoon when I got home still waiting for my position, I really hope we get the info today.
Thanks for the information! Relatively small queue then, although I guess the supply is likely small too!

An OK amount of Gigabyte Eagle OC 3080 are due next week and a very small amount of Gigabyte Gaming & Vision 3080 are due.

From yesterday. Praise the lord, we have Eagles on the way.
OK meaning ~50 or so. Now if only the 152 people ahead of me cancelled...

Did anyone get a queue update today?

I mean I am pretty sure I haven't moved. Maybe a few people cancelled... But from reading Gibbos update he mentioned we would get a weekly update on Friday?

Not greater, considering some 3090s have 450w limits

Rumours are 320W base equal to the 30 series, but that AIBs could be as much as 355W. The AIBs tend to push the limits over the reference designs. So it's a wash really...power draw is largely to do with node size and chip size and the clock speed. These are so similar that power was always going to come out about the same, the rumours of 255W were way too premature and obviously wrong.

My guess is that in most respects the cards will be similar to the 30 series which if true is good for everyone, it's good for AMD so they can finally step up and make some money, the people who want to stay Nvidia get cancellations and so faster delivery of their cards. We spread the bottleneck of GPU production across both TSMC and Samsung which is good for everyone. We get the cheapest prices on GPUs since TSMC dropped their 7nm costs to compete (finally), all the gamers get faster cards and more options and we see for the first time in ages some competition between AMD and Nvidia.

The one massive open question right now is how much of a problem is the lack of memory bandwidth going to be on big navi. I think that's going to require a deep dive on Infinity cache and how well that makes up for it, and if that's a straight up win, or requires a lot of game specific optimization.

Just had a call from a competitor who I had a Zotac order in with asking if I wanted to upgrade to the Zotac OC as they had a surplus. Arriving tomorrow, finally :)
