*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3090 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

Won a full PC on Friday that has a MSI RTX 3090 Ventus 3X OC in it, this is after winning a Strix OC 3080 a few weeks back  looking forward to being able to play games again, have been using a 1GB HD6870 for the past few months :p

Lol @70 ordered at launch well before actually as it was 13:58 but like I said still waiting no sign yet, total joke of a launch, farce in fact.
Yeah I was on the website and was trying to add to my basket by 1:58 or so, my order eventually went through at 2:08 I WAS 88th so I suppose I should be happy about any movement.

EDIT: Thanks @FlyingScotsman for spelling correction of basket in quote. I was using my phone and must have missed it.

Yeah think I was 24 at start so moved 14 in over 2 weeks, was really hoping I would have had one by now.
Smallest amount of cards ever at a big launch.

I think @OCUK should charge us normal price now that we will have to wait even more.

What you people say?

you have to be the luckiest person on ocuk , congrats

EVGA have a 500W bios you can flash.
Hoping Gamers Nexus get a Strix of soon.

and the card is still hardware limited to 450w. You have to do a shunt mod to get more

Evga 500w bios works very well on other manufacturers cards and even the strix gets a boost from it

on the ftw cards it does nothing

Well the only good thing about this waiting is that we at least get to see the AMD cards and still have options if they manage to pull a rabbit out of the hat. I doubt it will be a major upset but you never know.

That being said, I've a local retailler that seems to have the Aorus master cards due in a couple of weeks but with no reviews I'm loathe to jump from the Strix OC queue :/

Are all 3090 cards with two 8-pin power connectors limited to 375W? 150W (8-pin) + 150W (8-pin) + 75W (PCIe).

Is this likely to be a problem? Are there any gains to be had from going over 375W, or is it diminishing returns beyond that point?

The reason I ask is that I have a Gigabyte Aorus Master on order and I've noticed that it only has two 8-pin connectors. Why would Gigabyte only have two power connectors on a relatively high end card? I know the Aorus Extreme has 3 power connectors, but it seems a bit short sighted to deliberately cripple the Master.

there is a gigabyte 390watt bios out.
slightly exceeds the 75watt pcie slot power I believe...

but yes try and get a 3x8pin card for 450(500max) watt overclocking.

gains maybe 1000 points in time spy in games maybe 1 fps if your lucky...
