*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

Once again amazing information given on a daily basis from a competitor!!!

@Gibbo why don't we get daily info like this????

""26/10/20 - This week we are expecting approximately 305 RTX 3080 and 105 RTX 3090 across all brands with still a few TBC shipments to confirm. The delayed EVGA shipment from last week is expected to arrive today or tomorrow containing RTX 3080 and 3090. As per last Friday's update we did receive a small amount of additional new models that were not originally available for pre-order. These are currently being offered out to customers who purchased the same brand, in queue order from first to last, to the closest possible model by type, and then by price. We ask that customers remain patient and do not contact us to request an alternative model regardless of their queue position. We are working through the list as fairly as possible.

Thank you for your patience and support.""

The dry spell will end come Thursday, cause AMD shows their GPU's on Wednesday
Is this referring to the thing where Nvidia are holding back on stock? I've not really read into this but how is that supposed to work? Surely if they were worried about AMD they'd want as much stock out as soon as possible not wait until AMD launch? Or am I misunderstanding?

And looking at the rather good table that was setup i can see again there is no ASUS at all... le sigh..........

its morality wrong taking peoples money when you currently already have 1000s of orders that you can’t fulfill and are not likely to complete until the middle of next year, I hope people keep this in their memories TBH

Maybe if they weren't allowing people to refund... but you can refund whenever you like with a fairly quick turnaround. What's the problem?

They'll fulfill the orders eventually.

If someone today wants to reserve a card for say, August next year - why not let them?

There's nothing criminal or immoral about it. Their messaging is clear about being charged upfront for your pre-order and they give no expectation of when you'll recieve the product. Your free to make your own decisions, or indeed change your decision before the order is fulfilled.

So much nonsense in this thread.

Yeah right. OCUK is poor in comparison. I find it hard to believe that they don't know exact numbers. We haven't heard anything since Thursday either.

How is it they know this info but Gibbo's knows nothing??? They know what's coming over next two weeks and can say how many. But no no no, gibbo knows nothing. Bro I'm done with OCUK soon as I get this never again am I EVER buying from OCUK again. If the AMD 6000 is a lot better and I do go for one. Not sure as I like the Nvidia software, but if I do it sure as hell will not be here. Nor will my 5900x purchase

I hope OCUK know how much Gibbo is destroying their brand.

This place consistently updates same time every day twice. 9.30am with a table update and 14.30 everyday will lengthy post on what's going on. What they have done, and what's coming in next 2 weeks. AGAIN I ASK YOU GIBBO. How they hell do you keep a straight face and lie as much as you and OCUK have been doing.

NO it isn't morally wrong! it's called freedom of choice and if people choose to make that choice it's up to them not you!

What did I miss? Any Eagle OCs received/sent today? I'm at position eleventy squillion in the queue, so you can be sure I'll be watching the Big Navi launch very attentively. My money is on a £350 3070-beater and a £500 3080-nearly-er. Could be tempted.

I don't think you are misunderstanding. I get that create a big new story and hype around the demand could be good to drive business, but you need to fulfill that demand eventually. Especially if AMD have something competitive and in stock. You need the big glut of stock BEFORE they announce as that's when people will reevaluate. The fact there is still no news of big shipments and AMD announcing in a couple of days suggests a proper shortage rather than some epic 6D chess move to blow AMD out of the water.

The equation for me is simple, on 17th September I was 100% intending to buy a 3080. The longer the wait and the more I hear about AMD 6000 series, the less likely I am to get Nvidia. There will be thousands waiting in these queues doing the same calculation and reassessing their options. I don't see why you'd risk it if you could help it.

So I think a lot of the arguments around pre orders is maybe just terminology. Personally in the past a pre order for me was order the item now, when it's released you get charged on dispatch. Pre purchase is when I'd expect to be charged on order regardless of when my order arrives. This is the first time I've ever had to pay in full up front before my order has been dispatched. I'm not saying it's the first case, just from my experience.

Blimey....my ignore list climbs daily...mainly for apologists who have no drum to bang except the same damn one...over and over again.

There comes a point where a pre-order is absolutely, positively worthless...which is probably why OCUK is being as opaque as possible when dealing with newbies who are captivated by the 'pre-order' bait.
At the current rate of progress, and taking into account the huge bargaining power that all these pre-orders has gained OCUK (*cough*), the idiots saying that keeping them open is a wonderful thing have forgotten one, simple thing:

We know that eventually the machinery will crank into motion, everywhere will get ample supplies and these dark days will be a thing of the past.

So what card-carrying lunatic would want to sign up for a pre-order that is likely to ship way past New Year when other (and, by recent stock levels shipped) much more savvy companies with evidentially proven purchasing power will have cleared their pre-orders and opened up for general sale again?

I really, really hope this strategy bites OCUK on the rear, and provokes some clear thinking about communication (and not sounding like a sulky 9 year old when customers call you on your practices), about honest marketing (because all these pre-orders have shown ZERO purchasing power or ability) and about knowing when to call it a day with pre-orders.

I have a queue position. I ordered after day 1 and not anticipating my card anytime soon. But I'm not doing the F5 race either. I fully anticipate that the pre-order queue here is longer by a margin than it will take competitors to clear their much smaller backlog and sell me a 3080 with no trouble.

Why haven't I cancelled yet? Then I would have no reasons to come here and laugh at the possibly brainwashed, possibly OC cult members who continue to defend the frankly execrable service this company has provided and continues to 'provide', in this instance.

I posted in the Aorus thread, i've been on the phone to OC today complaining about the situation.

The other day, we all got a queue update for the 3080 Xtreme, moving 1 place. The guy on the phone at OC said "We have only had 3 3080 Xtreme's come in", so where are the other two cards if we only moved one place?
