*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

Hi all, I have seen a bit of discussion about the MSI Gaming x Trio having some issues with throttling / overheating and it's power limit being set quite low at 340w which can cause issues?

Any information or truth in these concerns?

It's the marketing they did in advance that bothers me, the deliberate misleading, which by the time it was known - you had no chance to swap to another company as you would be back of the queue - so you can take the high road, cancel and most likely see a card next year, but do ocuk care? ofc not, they have thousands waiting to take your spot in the queue. The second option is just to sit, wait, hope for reasonable updates and decent stock and take this into consideration when ordering in the future.

Every company screws up, it happens, I've had amazing service from ocuk in the past, I've also had some absolute shockers but this was just dishonest.

Maybe if they weren't allowing people to refund... but you can refund whenever you like with a fairly quick turnaround. What's the problem?

They'll fulfill the orders eventually.

If someone today wants to reserve a card for say, August next year - why not let them?

There's nothing criminal or immoral about it. Their messaging is clear about being charged upfront for your pre-order and they give no expectation of when you'll recieve the product. Your free to make your own decisions, or indeed change your decision before the order is fulfilled.

So much nonsense in this thread.

Common Courtesy let alone any customer service at all would let a person know how big the queue is before taking any payment, just because you can cancel at any time is no excuse for poor conduct in the first place.

The week commencing 12 October was the only week they haven't had any ASUS 3080s. They are getting some this week the post says 305 between all brands on 3080. So they are getting some this week. Even if it's a small amount it's still some. And look at the lengthy posts everyday from these guys. They least give a dam about keeping people updated no matter what. They have had EVGA cards every week too since they released. OCUK has had 0 and rather than keep people informed and calm people. OCUK and really Gibbo just doesn't bother. And letting OCUK loose 1000s of pre orders on cancellations. I can almost guarantee if people in top 100 canceled here for the Asus 3080 and went to back of the 800 queue on that place they would likely get before here still. Lol

It doesn't say that at all! In fact it actually says the Asus delivery is TBC i.e. not scheduled to come in at all. It even states they didn't receive any EVGA cards at all last week, so unless you're reading a different table to me, you've got it wrong. As for Gibbo not bothering I do have to agree as there is next to no detail being provided even when we know for a fact it's known by him.

Watched a few youtube channels on the MSi Trio 3080 and the heating issue is certainly not been a problem with one of the lowest heat scores against all of them. A lot of the 3080 not just MSi reduced their upper performance or actually capped it due to the (At that time array of MLCC or PSCAPS being too close and needed a break, hence MSi have 5 not six with a gap in the middle. This was due to high mhz rates causing interference amongst capacitors. However, a new update sorted that out. The TUF cards seem best on this aspect as they have six of the dearer ones in their array. But that also brings with it other issues, what you gain with one you lose with the other as they say. As far as i know most 3080's are pretty good and the scores on the doors pretty close to each other. Temps will only be a problem if you don't have a good airy case and plenty of flow. There is always liquid coolers that are out there that can help. However, NOT seen Msi Trio X overheating issues. Mind you clock them up too much and you will cause them to get hot and crash. That goes for every card.

The table gets updated at 9.30am. The posts at 2.30pm and the post clearly says 305 across ALL models of the 3080. The table will be updated tomrrow. You can't go back on the table but I have screen shots from them each weeks to work out how many they have received and it's a lot more on each brand than OCUK. Not huge amount but it's a lot more than here. Also if you read all the daily comments they have had EVGA Evey week since release. Only once out of 5 weeks have they not or been delayed.
End of the day it's far more information and product than this place. Who again said and are still saying on website. That OCUK is the biggest and best place. And they will get more stock and before anyone else. Compete load of rubbish.

Well guys and gals, I've finally decided to cancel my order. Ordered the 3080 Strix on the 18th, 1st email (2nd Oct) had me at 491, 2nd email (14th Oct) had me at 440, final email last Friday (23rd Oct) had me at 421. I would offer some sort of message of support to those left in the queue ("hope this puts someone closer") but let's be honest, ain't gonna happen. What did it for me: the official defensive rant on the other thread, followed by what seemed to be a better amount of updates, followed by complete silence yet again. I went onto a competitors site today, no rants at customers being angry, no moaning, just straight up facts & transparency.

I really regret ordering from OCUK. I remember being sat on their competitors website (the one that has WAY more information) and thinking "no I'll order from OCUK because they have a great reputation from what I've seen, they seem to be a decent Nvidia partner and less greedy on RRP's at the moment". Naive little idiot that I was.

I'm going to keep an eye on competitor sites and see if I get lucky, I hope my resolve lasts because I really don't want to buy a 3080 off ebay from these scalping b******s but I am a big child sometimes so might be a possibility. I will do my best not to do this for the community

Can I just advise anyone that is ANY kind of financial difficulty to cancel their order. Life is more than a graphics card, don't let these greedy little expletives sit on your hard earned money and keep your hopes ticking along with random "OK amount of this" and "tiny amount of this" updates.

Peace out :p

How is it they know this info but Gibbo's knows nothing??? They know what's coming over next two weeks and can say how many. But no no no, gibbo knows nothing. Bro I'm done with OCUK soon as I get this never again am I EVER buying from OCUK again. If the AMD 6000 is a lot better and I do go for one. Not sure as I like the Nvidia software, but if I do it sure as hell will not be here. Nor will my 5900x purchase

I hope OCUK know how much Gibbo is destroying their brand.
Gibbo will know how many are coming in. But he has no idea how many of those are going out to this queue. That's why there is the silence and ambiguity.

They are dammed if they do and dammed if they don't.
OCUK Gibbo needs to address why OCUK hasn't been getting stock for some cards for 3+4 weeks and some none at all. When other big UK places have been getting them. Do you guys really think Gibbo and OCUK have no idea what's going on. If they are honest and tell us.

"Look we are last after they other companies for getting stock (for what ever reason) and we have been told even if you are in top 100 I queue its gonna be end of November till you are likely to get your card"
They OCUK concerned people will cancel.
But saying nothing is also forcing people to cancel. Do you think all of us only have £800 in the bank and we are stuck with you. HELL NO. I could order from 10 places and just wait till one gets shipped and I cancel all others. But that's a crappy thing to do. I do know some are doing that. But make no mistake. If one comes in stock somewhere me and many will buy it and cancel here and never shop here again. Only reason I've not straight up cancelled because I'm in top 10

Let's be real. If what OCUK states on website was true even a little. They wouldn't of already had several 1000 cards cancelled. And I can bet for sure if they where as open and forth coming with info as other places and posted everyday. I can almost guarantee those several 1000s of cancellations would only be in the 100s

This should be a serious concern to management and bosses of OCUK. What's being done right now clearly for what ever reason they are being very quiet is NO WORKING.

The problem everybody seems to be getting at now is how is it other retailers can provide day to day updates when OCUK have no info at all? Other retailers seem to be getting these updates daily, what stock they are getting a week in advance and expected dates. Looking at a specific website here they knew they are getting 305 cards in this week of various AIB's with expected dates yet OCUK dont seem to have a clue how many they are getting. OCUK seem to be unable to get this information until 24 hours before the delivery but other retailers have this info a week in advance. (or OCUK do know and just purposefully withholding that information from us until 24 hours before they are due).

But you know.......

The Selling point of every company no doubt ?.... That particular supplier have orders for over 3500 GPU's (3080)... Still going to take another sizeable amount of deliveries to get ahead of the game. Personally, i would expect this sort of quantity per week at least now until Christmas. I am 1250 in the queue, yes dissapointed and frustrated but there really is nothing you can do about it. These companies need to also build PC Desktop stations and they all employ an army of staff doing that as well so they have to satisfy that side as much as you clever lot who can build their own.
I hope the top tier producers can pull it out of the bag and send lots to the UK, certainly more than they have been doing. Otherwise we are going to be waiting until January at least and BREXIT tarrifs looming causing delays whilst negotiations take place. Did you know most suppliers make around £120.00/£150.00 per Card ? So i guess they want to also supply you as quick as possible.

I don't want to have to go to a scalper either, but lets see if November is any better. Hopefully Gigabyte stock picks up. The last 2 evenings, preorders have been available on a competitors site so worth keeping an eye out.
