*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

From what I've seen Legion actually performs quite well for a change. You'll start running into trouble if you want to max everything out at high resolutions but CPU might actually be a bottleneck. Ubisoft are notorious for CPU hungry games.
Open-world Ubisoft games are literally the only thing that gives my CPU grief.

I just could not take any more, i was in position 94 for the Asus tuf Oc but im going to join the Big Navi que, its been very emotional and im not sure i will ever get over it, so see you all Nov 18th if you can make it that far, good luck evrybody im going t Pub, regards
me too Mate juat done the same big navi is a nvidia killer and won't have to go through all this ridiculous BS with them

Well I'm impressed that AMD Radeon has managed to catch up finally. And no matter which team you like it's good for all of us. This will only bring prices down in future and maybe very soon of team green.

How ever I have to say I wasn't impressed enough to want to switch.

The only people who should feel quite bad right now are the people who purchased the 3090 only for gaming.

3080 brothers and sisters I feel we are good. With everything the 3080 can do more refined DLSS, Raytracing as Nvidia had had 2 generations to sort issues out where as AMD is only just starting.
Nvidia has far more features and no idea if AMD drivers will be good.

I was concered about price. But considering its basically the same price £50 less for the 6800xt. I can chill and be happy with my 3080 order. And not worry and feel bad. If they had said $550 I'd of been gutted.

As for the $999 for the 6900xt people need to understand those scores are ONLY with RAGE mode and running with a 5000 series and CPU (which I'm getting anyway) and a pcie 4.0 motherboard. So if you have older AMD CPU and or no pcie 4.0 motherboard you would have to factor those upgrades into the cost if trying to beat the 3090.

Either way this is a great thing for everyone.

No let's see if Nvidia responds to bring the 3080 super and 3070 super out.

Also these 6800xt at $650 will be £600 then £100 minimum for ok AIB boards.
And the 6900xt is $999 here in UK £899 and AIB £100-150 above.

If you bought a 3090 ONlY for gaming. Ouch. If you have a decent 3080 your good.

Really relieved my Gigabyte Vision is still a sound choice.... wrestling with the choice on 3070 for my son. He is on the Zen 1800x with RTX 1080 and 3000Mhz C15 RAM. I had hoped to buy him a 3080 from OcUK but I "wasnt allowed" 2 cards.....

FE from competition has shipped including watchdogs codes. I know where I'll be ordering from in the future!

Mine too. For £650 I think the rtx 3080 is the better option than the AMD offering. I will be cancelling my eagle so someone will at least move up the queue

DLSS is now a mature technology and I don't think AMD will be able to match it for now

However if we were taking about spending £750 on the 3080 with an AIB then I woukd probably think more carefully about the AMD option

Unfortunately my relationship with OC is over after the way they played this. It was not the problem with stock but gibbos tactics of asking him to trust him when he says that OC were going to get the majority of UK cards

Complete lies

.

whilst I agree with most of your post this sticks out at me as me wrong

ryzen 5900x is 549.99$ and retails on oc for 509.99£ I can persoanlly see the the 6800xt being 629.99 or even 649.99 amd are not very good at giving good currency exchange and all there prices are with vat.

so I expect to see 649.99 and 999.99 pounds or very close to it.

the price bit with the aib is probably right though which really put the 6800xt same price as the 3080 which means anyone in que for 3080 will still be good card for performance and value chat vs amd

Agreed, @ £650 the 3080 is still a solid choice, much more than that though and I'd be looking at team Red.

The AIB versions for AMD will be £100 plus anyway. I feel FE Nvidia Vs FE Amd with and being £50 less Nvidia still wins with far more mature DLSS, raytracing all rtx features and having hardware raytracing cores Amd next GPU Navi 22 or Navi 23 I forget will have hardware tracing and could be much better by then having matured and having hardware specific for it. Right now 3080 is better I feel no matter what. Now if AMD was £550 then I'd of been concerned.

Ocuk worked some magic cos these cards were due Friday! Just need my new dell 27” and a 5000 series and I’m done!
Nice one mate, I've just had my dispatch email for the FE. I was 600 in the queue for the Trio, so will cancel that as soon as my card arrives.
I'll see you in a week! Let's hope the 5000 release is much smoother :D

Even though I was 50th in the queue for a Tuf OC I decided to cancel, it’s not because of OC or Asus its because this whole launch has been a disaster and is clearly a paper launch that has been used to artificially drive prices up and that rests squarely on the shoulders of Nvidia.

After discovering that my Alienware g-sync ultra wide has unofficial freesync support, and seeing what AMD has to offer along side the Zen 3 benefits the 6800XT offers enough of a performance uplift from my 1080ti and will be cheaper as well for it to make sense for me.

You can also bet your bottom dollar that they’ll launch a 3070ti and 3080ti following AMD’s launch to further adding to the insult for early adopters.

Good luck everyone else if you’re choosing to stay but actually after two gens of seeing Nvidia act in ways that are pretty awful towards it’s customers I just don’t want to give them any more of my money and I’m prepared to give AMD a punt.

Well **** me dead, when you wait long enough for a bus and 2 turn up at the same time...

In this case the bus was of course the 3080. Scored an FE today and just got my Tuf OC dispatch email from OC.

I've had worse problems to deal with, but now I get to choose which one to keep and which to return!

Haha sods law, what queue POS was you. I was 10 just got mine shipped too.

Sods law indeed! I was number 28.

I honestly dont think i've ever put so much effort into trying to give multiple companies so much of my money before. Ever.

Big feeling of relief now that my watch has ended twice in a day!
