*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

zeed you o me £10

you must have missed the 3900xt then that beats the 3080 and the 3090 the bet was that the big Navi would beat both and it did beat the 3090 in most games even if it was just one game which it was more than one game it still won so i win be very careful when betting son in the future.
He's saying you won Simon..... Dude

Is it just me that got excited after seeing the AMD launch thinking maybe I could actually get a new card this year (apparently ordering within 2 hours here isn't enough on the 3080!), then realise I have a g-sync monitor that makes it pointless to go AMD. Darn propriety tech!

A lot of gsync monitors support free sync now my dude, check up on it and yes I got extremely excited. I really want a 6900xt now

Your post got removed because what you said it's false. They have completely different deliveries. @Gibbo explained that already.

Does anybody really believe that though.
No SI that i've ever had dealings with has been able to supply full retail packaging with their builds. The parts come in bulk packaging. This is the reason a certain place got into trouble selling SI evga stock. They couldn't supply the retail packaging and cards were getting damaged.

The other side is that IF it is seperate stock and OC actually have TWO channels to ensure "they're in the best position to secure stock" then they should be using that stock to clear there ever growing queues.

Im just glad im out tbh

Most g-sync monitors actually support freesync as its free. freesync uses parts of the displayport standard so you should be good. freesync itself isnt quite as good as g-sync though so i'd stick with the green team but its defo not a reason not to go red if you like their offerings ;)

I've had a look and seems to be only some brand new monitors releasing now? I have an Acer XB270HU and can't see anything about freesync working on it and seems to be that Nvidia GPU's support freesync displays but AMD GPU's can't run freesync on g-sync displays :/

They can't just use SI stock for normal customer orders as they are bought under different terms and pricing and ordered for the shop's pre-builds!

That's understandable. I'm sure there would be complaints about a GPU delivered without a box.

Out of interest though, what is stopping OC from unboxing a GPU that arrived and putting it into a pre-build? (which I think is a real concern in this thread, considering that Gibbo gives numbers and the numbers delivered are smaller)

As far as I'm aware that's not happening, hence why they are continuing to source SI stock separately to the main sales stock.

As for the numbers, I'm not sure, there are so many factors going on that It's not just a 1 in 1 out/strike off the queue position, there's RMAs, there's missing or damaged on arrival, there's cancellations etc... add to that Nvidia"s insistence on retailers not giving exact numbers away, it just makes it hard to track down the exact numbers :)

Lol

Just kidding, I didn't think of the rma's tbh

I don't buy it myself. just one of the reasons i cancelled my OC order. Too many things didn't seem to be adding up. I spoke to a competitor last week about 3070s and they also confirmed any SI stock comes to them in bulk. They are currently using retail 3080 and 3090 stock in pre-builds due to not being able to actually get SI stock. I obviously don't know how OC deals with stock and their pre-builds but i honestly can't see things being much different.

Of course thats just my opinion and the way i see things. At the end of the day it makes little difference to most though, with even people near the front of the queues still wondering if they're going to see a card anytime soon :( - I was 500+ for an eagle so stood no chance realistically. I grabbed an aorus master elsewhere which is the card i wanted originally. I got it within a week of ordering so im happy and all's good ;)

We got a delivery of only 1 card last week of some model, what was it, Aorus Master maybe? I don't buy that. As if Gigabyte or whoever would send just 1 card. They would send 0 or at the very least 5-10. But 1 lol. You could just imagine distributor/manufacturer doing that if they really wanted to annoy the reseller. I wouldn't be surprised if some of the "retail" stock is being borrowed for prebuilds, sold elsewhere or whatever. So many shipments being smaller than expected and the secrecy is weird. Like you, I just don't buy it.

OcUK pulling an MSI?

Who knows what's happening. In 25 years working in the B2B side of the industry I can tell you one thing is, and always has been true. Margin is king. If a company in the IT industry is not selling product or services at the highest margins possible, especially in times of shortage, they are being derelict in their duties to the owners/shareholders. It would be a perfectly normal thing for any company within the very cutthroat tech industry to do. We've had product amounts of 1s 2s 3s 4s coming in. Unusual to say the least. Very rarely have the shipments been of the size that were inferred by the inane code being used. RMAs must be rife to be any kind of a part of the reason. I also look at what other competitors are getting in and things don't add up.

I have no idea what is going on, but I believe that more cards have come in than have been dispatched. What's happened to them is anyone's guess.

Your attitude would stink too if you ordered an Inno3D card and only a month later after a bunch of nothing they manage to deliver 20pcs

maybe before you speak let your brain think first you overclockers fanboy boomer

Or you can just cancel already, and let the other us wait patiently for constructive feedback. You have been saying I'll cancel, I'll cancel for a while now. Just do it already. It's not like threatening it will make inno3d cry and send it's whole stock now. Plus there's still 2 days in the estimated time given that the shipment will leave HK so I'll wait for an official info on next week. No info to point at your "yah, it's lost". Also think a bit for once, if Nvidia doesn't produces chips, inno3d can't produce cards, and any store might have already ordered 200-300 cards but you can't get them cause they have a problem at the very core. And add to the fact that companies priorities markets that are most profitable. They're not charity, so yeah, we're low in the list. So here's that, just cancel already if this is embarrassing. You are completely free to take your money wherever you want. If you don't like this one's policy, you have the freedom to look somewhere else. It's that simple.
