**RTX 3070 REVIEW Thread**

Your kidding? i got atleast 3 people at work saying to me "You seen the 3070?? looks great, im pre-ordering one" these are current 1070 and 2070 owners lol... they are not overly computer savvy types either, they come to me for advice as i work in the IT Dept, they play WoW and CoD and thats pretty much it. And there are thousands of people just like this.. that 3070 will probably be one of Nvidias most successful ever cards.

This^

NVidia's target market.

NVidia for the most part does not give a hoot about Tech forum members as they make up less than 1% of the market.

If I did not upgrade every cycle I would not buy any XX70 regardless of the amount of memory it uses, I would just get a Titan card and skip a couple of cycles. ATM I am typing this on an old Titan card, it has 12gb of memory and is as fast as a 2080 Ti or 3070.

On the other hand if I wanted a card now for some gaming that would last a couple of years a 3070 with 8gb would do fine.

A 3070 even with 16gb of memory in 4 years time will barely be entry level performance.

Nah, i'm not settling for yesterday's VRAM if I'm spending £500 and couldn't give a **** whether it's "enough" or not. IMO it's not enough for £500 or with an eye to the future.

Thought you might like a picture of a Zotac 3070 OC in an Asus TUF Gaming mobo. No benchmarks because I've not yet got a CPU (LOL!) but thought you might like the picture anyway:

The card is nicely put together and much, much smaller than I was expecting - it really is diminutive even when placed against a micro ATX board. Very happy with it and I'm sure that once I finally fire the thing up, it won't disappoint.

From where did you get it so early? I will hunt for the same model or non-oc tomorrow, hope to get one.

Nv marketing the 3070 as 2080ti performance from the off, but its not a 4K card, or the 2080ti was never a 4K card?:p

My 2070 can game at 4K but the 3070 is pushing out 4K no's similar to the 2080ti but its not a 4K card?

The flip flopping of it can but can't is funny reading.:p

3070 is a 4K card with a glass jaw.

Games are getting more demanding. The 1080 Ti was also a 4K card. But only for a while.

You've done well to grab one so early, shame about the cpu though.:o

Good luck. There are cards out there in channel, so I'm sure you'll have success.

Yes, this was a frustration I'll admit. To be fair, I wasn't bothered about having it early - I just didn't want to get stuck without one until the new year! I suspect AMD's announcements yesterday may ease some of the pressure and spread the demand over more supply channels, so even if they sell out today, we hopefully won't see a repeat of the 3080 mess.

Is the pre order release date happening at 1pm or 2pm since the time went backwards ?
Quote from the NVidia email I received overnight:
GeForce RTX 3070 orders open starting October 29 at 1 PM GMT.

Managed to finally get an order through for the Palit 3070 Gaming Pro OC, the site and even the payments processor was being hammered, paypal itself was also messing up for me but the order got through eventually after maybe 15 mins or more trying and failing.
£545 inc the VAT and delivery.

Thanks OCUK !

Just hope now I managed to actually get one and not placed in a queue. Went off the hints given in another thread that OCUK had a good stock of the Palit cards.

I am surprised to see OcUK servers still struggled. Thought it would be smooth as they would be prepared this time. Also the forum still slowed down at times and keep logging me out. I am surprised that it seems it is still on the same server.

One thing though that's puzzled me, the Nvidia site itself, I had initially gone and tried for a founders edition, clicked the buy button and it sends me to a competitor site I shall not name, also in the UK, which did not even have any Founders Editions for sale.

Lucky man! I have been stuck on checkout for 20 minutes now, losing hope lol.

I'd done all the captchas and was ready to go with a few cards loaded up. I use the other site a lot so I know exactly what to do so had an order done very soon after 1pm.

A shame the FE cards were released after the website was under severe strain. Wanted one of them but didn't have time to keep trying once the website slowed right down.

They had plenty. I was able to get a card into my basket but the entire checkout process was under severe strain by 1.15.

Was trying since 1pm, none were in stock for me but maybe they were only showing stock of the FE for UK customers only (am in Ireland).
