*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

What he said was:

"A small amount of all Gigabyte 3090's are due end of next week.
A small amount of most of the 3080's are due end of next week.
A OK amount of all 3070's due end of next week."

I read that as all referring to Gigabyte, not a small amount from all manufacturers...

It's not at all clear what was meant.

Maybe his post should have had an overall title "GIGABYTE UPDATE"? i.e. "most of the 3080's" meaning "most of the Gigabyte 3080s"? And "all 3070's" meaning "all Gigabyte 3070s"?

...But maybe not! Maybe the 3080s/3070s are across all brands? (Which would be fairly exciting!)

@Gibbo we genuinely love it when you communicate, but please communicate clearly otherwise we fall into additional speculation!

Anyone else experiencing courier delivery issues? Can’t say as any other item I have ordered is taking any longer to deliver than normal.

I had something completely unrelated that DPD told me yesterday they'd be delivering today, but at this point it is still at the supplier and now I guess won't get here this week, so that might be due to them being really busy. It could just be a normal mistake and they missed a pickup/supplier didn't hand it over, no way to know for sure.

I ma in the queue for the TUF non-OC and last week i was 1080 and today i am 970.

So can someone explain how another person i have seen on here could have been one position in front at 1079 last week and advanced to 914 today. That's 56 places ahead of me when last week they were 1..

Shame its just cancellations and no cards are moving my Dude, for me on the same card...

Another Small and OK shipment and I should be getting mine - before mid or end of November looks promising!

Guys not to get overly dramatic but surely oc can't behind the pre-order claim forever, if the launch of the 3080 has been and gone there has to be a time by which they need to get our goods to us
Nope no time limit had Ps4 paid on preorder for 3 months before went on sale.

Maybe they should hold the aib partners at gun point to hurry them up?

sorry, I don’t understand your point. Gibbo said some of the issue were due to couriers being overwhelmed by deliveries due to black friday deals and people shopping early for xmas. I have not experienced this with anything I have ordered online ( which means they are receiving and shipping fine ). Not sure what your point about holding a gun to someone’s head meant.

it is Friday afternoon though, so maybe the work commute is getting to me ( from my bedroom to the spare bedroom - its a doozy ! )

Waited 3 month exactly this time last year. Ordered a i9 9920x the day intel dropped prices and 24hr later it was £100 more than I paid.
3 month later they sent the wrong processor. They sent me the i9 9940x instead and only charged me for the lower 9920x price.
Thought I will leave it at that rather than question the decision and possibly send it back.
I can only hope same happens this time around and I get a 3090 for £650 lol

To hurry them up,
We ordered from OCUK,
OCUK ordered from somone else,
The other guy said there has to be a time by which they get the goods to us,
I'm simply saying unless OCUK get their orders, we ain't getting ours

MSI 3080 Gaming Trio - gone from 111 to 104, so presumably no new stock and 7 cancellations. I assume the current order is coming by boat as I would have thought it would have arrived by now otherwise.

i get that, but Gibbo said part of the problem was couriers not delivering because of the black friday and xmas rush. My point was that I have seen no evidence of that elsewhere. So he’s now shifted at least some of the blame away from the manufacturers and onto to couriers. No blame for OC though.

I had a little think about this today. And I'm going to mention a competitor, if I get banned so be it as I'm not mentioning it to push sales but to defend Overclockers and other retailers positions on this as I see it as I think the abuse that some are giving to them is unwarranted. I'm using this to explain what I see is happening and calm some minds (hopefully). I'm not promoting them but I can use their data related to my experience of not getting a card to try paint the picture of what a really poor situation retailers have been left in by suppliers.

Originally I had ordered through Scan and had it processed at 14:17 for the MSI Ventus. I was still 124 in the queue a week later. Scan later explained that they stopped taking pre orders and only allowed enough which they projected that they could fulfil through their projected six week income of stock that they has obviously ordered and thought they were guaranteed. I'm pretty certain that Overclockers and many other retailers would have done the same and would have had a projected week by week income of various models that they have ordered. After all they pay for the orders then sell the stock on to the consumers and would have had a short term plan of what they would have to sell based on their orders with the various producers of cards.

Now, it quickly became clear that as my updates were give over the six week period that Scan were not getting anywhere near the numbers that they had projected. I went from 124 to 69 in that six week period, and eventually I cancelled last week. Including the initial batch they had in stock at launch and the 900 pre order backed up that equated to around 1000 cards sold. They were expecting to receive 1000 cards from launch to arrive. It is now exactly six weeks since launch and they still have 831 orders left. That's 831 cards less than they requested prior to launch which would have fed the six week backlog. Looking at the people and their situation on this fourm, it appears that exactly the same is happening at Overclockers and they are hundreds of cards down from their projections. There is no blame here on any of the retailers for me, other than maybe be a bit more clear about things. Maybe tell people how many preorders you were expecting to have cleared out by now. I can work it out roughly from the data Scan provide and their initial expectations on the first six weeks worth of stock. Maybe Gibbo could come out and say where they were expecting to be based upon what they were expecting to receive by this point.

Now, Scan had a cheap shot at Overclockers here, by stating they stopped taking pre orders as if it mattered. Why does it matter if OC are still taking pre-orders really? It is going to take as long as it takes to clear out the immense backlog of cards currently on order anyway and it makes no difference to you at the back of the queue as you will get it roughly the same time as if they would have stopped taking orders and you waited for the backlog to clear. The problem isn't the retailers, it is the supply of the cards which is causing a problem. When you were probably expecting a 100 or so a week and you receive 20 then what can you do as a retailer? Not much in my book.

Anyway I'll probably get banned now. No blame on the admins, I knowingly broke the rules, but I did it to make a point and defend them as a retailer who from what I can see are doing their best. Unless they start manufacturing cards, then they are held to the suppliers graces.

Yer but a small deposit not the whole lot and that was small money total value compared to these cards, it's not like OC need the money to purchase the cards as standard practice is a 28 day invoice from delivery, so why do OC get 28 days to pay but we have to pay OC in full month's in advance? Gimme a refund and keep £50 deposit at this point and offer me the card like EVGA do when it arrives.

Sounded like they expected it to take about a week, and Gibbo said arrival "end of this week" was the earliest. He's said today that some of their shipments seem to be slower than usual, so hopefully the 75-100 3080 Trios enroute (plus the 3090s with them) will get here early next week (and the 10-30 scheduled to leave MSI tomorrow ship on time and are enough to get you yours end of next week/late the following week).
