The 3090 is basically dead on arrival for gaming. Nvidia will be releasing a 3080ti that will very likely be faster and possibly cheaper, to compete with AMD's cards.

I'd recommend you sit tight and wait to see how this plays out. I'm using my Radeon VII currently (similar performance to your 1080ti) while I wait for this all to play out.

NV has said no 3080ti or 3070 20gb.

And what are the RT scores for the amd cards?

Hahaha, well my friend has a 3080 FE (manual overclocked), i have Strix OC 3090, in watch dogs legion, i get about 20 more FPS out the box (no manual overclocking) with same settings as him in the benchmarks. Running at 4k obviously, so clearly there is a big difference.
 
Has anyone had any update for this week for the TUF OC cards by any chance ?
I have the new build ready and waiting for the last couple of months and also received my new monitor last week, so I’m really itching to get this

If I were a betting man, I'd say the market will be flooded just as AMDs cards release. Makes sence right? Unless of course AMD has loads of stock ready to go. ASUS is completely quiet on twitter even having been asked directly, so I suspect plotting is going on...

Well I would really say that It's pretty fair that people are ****** off. Heck! I am ******-off! The problem is that people are starting to spill their states-of-mind in a counter-productive way. Ranting here will get no one closer to getting their cards delivered. Truth be told. We were fooled by NVidia. Ok. The card is cool and all, but they released without stock.

I am taking the opportunity to analyse how things are going during this shortage and how 6900XT launch is going. If after reviews It proves to be the card between 3080 and 3090 (with raytracing enabled), I know I can cancel my pre-order and get that one. If not, I know 3080 is a very good card already and IMO was already a worthwhile expense. Not too shabby.

Would you say that the 3090 OC would also be a worthwhile expense? Especially for someone who is still using a 1080ti?

The only person that can say an expense is worthwhile, is the one paying It. hehehe... For content creation IMHO It's a superior card. The closest you will get from an Ampere Quadro. From a Gaming perspective (again, IMHO) It is an overkill. The 8K gaming thing was a marketing stunt. They enabled DLSS from 1440p to 8K..... that is a stretch!
Now... if It's worth the money, only who's paying can tell. Not worth mine. :p

Lots of people complain about the 10GB VRAM, but I game at 1440p, and that's more than enough for a foreseeable future to keep setting on Ultra for 1440p.

So according to the latest post by Gibbo only a small amount of MSI 3080 are expected, but only in his previous message he was saying that “3090 supply is improving”.... wtf ?
