RYZEN 5000 SERIES NOW ONLINE - 5950X, 5900X, 5800X & 5600X COMING NOV 5TH AT 5PM **NO COMPETITORS**

You can get 32GB 3600MHz C16 for ~£140, spending crazy money on faster will deliver very poor value for money. Spending the extra on GPU/CPU will give better returns.
Yep, but if like me you like faffing about with things its noice to have a good kit and know that the memory isnt the bottlneck when tweaking rather its the CPU IMC thats limiting you. thats my reasoning

Ain't got a clue what you're saying, but I also Agree :D

There are some very specific niche cases - like Dwarf Fortress (one of my staple games when I have time for it!) - where I'd consider spending a bit more, say £200.

Above £200, and especially above £300, that's just the 2020 Covid gouging effect in full swing :p

Wonder what Black Friday will look like this year...

Thanks, I think this will be my choice too.. question is the 4x8 better option as some of the tests suggest performance increase on 4 sticks.

A number of YTers have confirmed 4 stricks is better than 2 for the 5000 series (upto 10% improvement). Have a look and see if it helps make you mind up.

I order a 5900x on release day, and recieved en email saying my amazon payment had been confirmed. I also recieved an email thr next day on friday saying im queue position 271, roughly how long should i be expecting to wait?

again its not about 2 or 4 sticks its about ranks. 2 dual rank sticks would/should be even better than 4 single rank.

No-one can say, they should be getting some stock every week as cpu's are not as hard to manufacture as gpu's.
Also more cpu's can be shipped each time as they take less space.

I also ordered with the same competitor and got the same result (apart from meant to be delivered Friday instead of Saturday).
Supposedly their queue numbers are going out today, but they also said that Friday so I'm not hopeful.

One positive of this and the 3080 problems is that sites are slowly investing in technology to improve this.
One already made a queue system for the basket and the competitor we were talking about is planning on doing the same.

They have put the numbers of outstanding pre-orders up now, thankfully it's much lower than the GPU ones were, so hopefully the wait won't be too long. I've still not received a queue update though.

As you'd expect the 5900x has by far the most pre-orders, I ordered the 5800x which has around 20% of the 5900x, so I hope I'll get one on the next shipment, I'm convinced I only just missed out as I saw someone on here get their 5800x on Friday and their order went through at 14:11 and mine was 14:13.

To my surprise the 5600x has the least, I thought this would be the most popular with the 5900x, maybe they had more initial stock though.

Just saw a competitor put Ryzen 5000 series pre-order queue system online now with 2698 outstanding pre-orders, Ryzen 9 5900X is most popular with 1538 pre-orders, Ryzen 9 5950X has 551 pre-orders, Ryzen 7 5800X has 329 pre-orders and Ryzen 5 5600X has 280 pre-orders. Surprised people are happy to spend £559.99 on Ryzen 9 5900X.

Demand seemed less than RTX 3000 series with 5434 outstanding pre-orders with 2177 pre-orders for RTX 3070, 2705 pre-orders for RTX 3080 and 552 pre-orders for RTX 3090.

So it safe to assume it will be a reasonable time though? Say this week or next week? I understand i cant know until i get email detailing the date, but just as an estimate.
I had payment authorised at 2:05pm but my eta is 20/11.
Would love to know the amount of orders placed from 13:58 - 14:03. The website did actually work without crashing but this must have allowed hundreds / thousands to order at the same time causing the stock system meltdown... not OcUK i’m talking about here

Awful launch from AMD.

You can pick up a 3900 non-x for £325, which means the 5900x is about 25% more powerful (give or take) at a 70% higher premium.

I get it, they're in a position where they can now take the **** similar to what Intel did, but to be doing it now is a major kick in the ******** for everyone.

All previous gen processors seem to be bumping in price too.

My first order confirmed email arrived at 14:11, saying i was in a preorder queue. My second order confirmed then arrived at 20:55, and my payment authorised (by credit card) followed at 21:03. It weirdly estimated delivery on Nov 6th, but I guess that was an error. I've got nothing more since.

Edit: Whilst my order was made within 11 minutes, I'm still over 900 in that queue :(
