EV general discussion

TBF my GF managed to reverse my i3 into the garage wall. New cars can be confusing and panic could set in quite easily, especially if you're not used to these newfangled transmission switches..

I've sometimes set of in R instead of D and vice versa, but never hit anything obv.

Having seen the longer pic it’s certainly a case of unintended acceleration.

He probably has creep on, took his foot off the brake, car starts rolling forward, panics, tries to mash the brake, hits the side of it (hence the flash of lights), foot slides off onto the accelerator which is now mashed, 500+hp and instant torque tells the rest of the story.

Brutal that someone caught it on CCTV and it’s now over the internet.

That said the CCTV owner may well be in trouble, that camera placement looks illegal and a clear breach of GDPR by putting it online.

i wonder when the driving test is going to start making some mandatory changes to make handling EVs safer, ie about idel creep and the use of all the auto driver's-aid gadgets that may lead to issues like this. people aren't going to need to learn clutch control any more but maybe there should be tests to make sure they activate parking sensors when needed. this one-pedal-driving stuff must take some getting used to as well, i'd think.

Turbo kicked in.

looked like turning circle didn’t get onto the drive so was looking for reverse? So I’m guessing it was visiting the black kuga house if it wasn’t the house.

Took me a couple of miles and then it was natural. I started on the low setting first then moved up the max setting, which isn’t far off emergency braking at lower speeds.

The website, car configure and ordering process is very confusing.
The opening page advertises a car range of 379 miles, 0-60 in 3.7 sec and a 73 mile range on a 10minute charge. Yet when you click on any of the configure/order buttons non of the advertised specs are available anywhere. The only options are £40k and £46k lower spec models.

Never before have I seen a page with so many [*]x3, [†]x3, [‡]x3, [1] x8

Deal itself is poor, i expect better from Ford once more lenders on-board , ideally should under that magic 21% for leasing

you have two pedals (yes?) so we're talking regen level ? there's a genuine one pedal option like a bumper car being considered afaik.
max is what corresponds to your driving style, or there were other factors ? ... ie you don't get 100% recovery if you over-brake.

sounds about right - no? preserving a 50% 3yrear residual, or is the maths different ?

Mileage is very low, I would expect the actual cost to be higher.

I’m not sure why you would spend that much money to rent a car and drive it less than 115 miles a week.

That deal is very poor - I'm paying less for my Polestar (300kW and 78kWh) with 10k miles pa.
