If you do have the console laid horizontally, I would suggest moving the stand about, which may help lessen the disk vibrations. I have the stand off centre-right and I've not noticed any excessive vibrations when the disk spins up.

I'm really struggling with my controller muscle memory from using XBOX pads on PC for ten years :o

I had a PS4 Pro for a couple of years, but due to work and uni commitments I just didn't get to play it that much. I'm just going to have to knuckle down and spend more time over the weekend webbing around Manhattan.

How’re you finding spider man ?

I’m hoping there will be a 2nd game !

Buttons aren't too much of an issue, even though I sometimes have to think for a second about which one is R1/L1/R2/L2 :p:o:eek:

Aiming with the sticks however is another matter!!

I just find it strange. You clearly didn't like the PS4 and didn't rate most (any) of the exclusives yet you buy a PS5 on release?

Well as hardware goes the Xbox One X was certainly better than the PS4 Pro and the controller was also more comfortable, so multi-platform games were better on X1X and I therefore wasn't going to play them on the PS4. A few of the exclusives like TLoU and Days Gone were really good but many like Horizon / Spiderman / GoW were pretty mediocre imo. PSVR was a big part of the appeal for me to PS last gen and that + some exclusives was what it was used for.

The PS5 is a bit of a different story, whilst the console specs are a little disappointing (though seemingly that isn't holding it back so far) and the design and build quality a little cheap looking/feeling vs the Series X, the Dualsense is a genuine evolution and has now overtaken the Xbox controller for me. With the lack of games on both sides I certainly didn't need to buy a PS5 but at the end of the day £450 is nothing I'm going to miss and worth it to avoid any FOMO.

TLDR: I've no issue with Playstation as a brand. Just because the PS4 was the weaker offering last gen doesn't mean i'm going to write off the PS5 without giving it a chance.

I'd have no problem here if the PS5 was working 100% as expected and didn't keep crashing / having these silly software bugs.

How exactly was the PS4 "the weaker" offering last generation?
I mean, 113.5 million sales cannot be wrong - better exclusives.....I don't understand how the word "weak" can be applied to the PS4 in any way.

He said One X and PS4 Pro, not PS4 - it's common knowledge the One X was a fair bit more powerful than the PS4 Pro, and many multi-platform games ran at a higher res on the One X.

He is talking about specs, everyone knows the xbox last and this gen is more powerful. The PS4/5 has always had better exclusives. This time around PS5 also has the best pad on the planet.

I didn't even bother with the Pro as I only had a 1080p TV at the time so felt it wasn't worth it. The OG XB1 was pretty poor in comparison to the OG PS4 though yeah they gave it a major boost with the X (which I also skipped). Things are closer this gen and both are going to bring us some pretty outstanding visuals throughout their respective lifespans.

Oh right - so he's talking about a completely useless metric then - hadn't realised.
PS4 being the "lesser spec" console, however the better overall console for sales and exclusives.
PS5 being the "lesser spec" console, however performing on-par despite the 15% raw power deficit.

Well not at launch as I'm sure PS4 standard had more power over launch Xbox one , Xbox gained power advantage with Xbox one x.

Which so far some games despite Microsoft having more power are running better on PS5

Yeah very true, some games now are running better on the PS5. Does not make sense really.

'Thousands of members' but only managed to get under 3000 consoles on launch day, so probably not much more than 1 or 2 per person?
and some people think the fault is on those willing to pay the scalpers prices

If no-one paid those inflated prices, these companies wouldn't exist. Basic supply and demand. Of course, the clever trick here is that being able to buy a lot of units, then creates a shortage, which then creates more demand, which makes some people pay inflated prices. From a business standpoint it's quite clever, they're both created the demand AND profiting off the back of it... If it wasn't for these people the demand for the consoles wouldn't be as high.
