*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

Why are some people still sticking up for OC? They have treated everyone who bought a 3080 like a mug, why you ask .. here goes..

lying about there proffered nvidia status.. that would be the ones selling FE then..

Misleading pre order statuses, it’s been released two and a half months it’s not a pre order!!!!

misleading expected on dates at launch.. that’s why I chose them over competitors..

bull &£% small medium and large nonsense.

no communication regarding what’s going on.. they know but won’t say.

but it’s ok @Gibbo get a new car.

mare you hostages! OC have nothing but the fact they let us pre order @MrSP keeping us here! If I wasn’t so cheap and hadn’t got my hands on a 3070 FE to tide me over I would be out of here. Please explain how any of the above is not Ocs fault? I know nvidia are ultimately responsible but damn OC leaves a nasty taste in the mouth. Get in trust pilot and google and tell them how you were treated people.

#edit.. moronic spelling

Aaannnd I’m out. Its been a blast, but I just got a 3090 FE from elsewhere. Everyone higher than 240 in the asus rog strix non OC queue just got one place closer to gratification.

Hopefully this wont mean upgrades for a while and 4K ray tracing should now be a meaningful reality. Just need to restart Control now for full effect.

It would appear the world has a silicon shortage owing to the lockdown. People working from home need a decent PC and whether they buy one themselves or work buys it for them, it all needs silicon, and it all needs manufacturing.
Multiple high volume launches have all happened at the same time Iphone + accessories with 5G; Xbox; Playstation; several new graphics cards; new CPUs from AMD; resurgence in crypto, the list goes on.
Intel losing market share means that their Manilla wafer fab maybe isn't quite so loaded, but they don't manufacture for anyone else so the load is switched to TMSC instead.

These are perhaps the real reasons why people aren't getting cards.

That might have a little effect but it wouldn't explain why other cards like the 3070 and 3090 are relatively easy to come by. Everyone wants the 3080 but there just isn't the production bandwidth for it. If I was Nvidia I would have delayed the 3070 until I was on top of 3080 orders.

I think they launched the 3080 in a rush to combat the 6800xt, really wanted to rip everyone off with the 3090 , no excuse for COVID / Brexit etc , 3070 have been plentiful.

Just had a moment of madness and bought a 3090fe. Was really concerned about the money but I'm so relieved I don't have to play the f5 game or hope for info here any more that I no longer care about the money. Good luck all and I'll never be back here again

It's a much smaller chip and you can get many more per wafer. They almost certainly booked the production way earlier than this situation was ever even known about, and these things are like stopping an oil tanker.
Demand is the factor for the 3090, it's twice as much for only 5% performance gain.

Thats pretty much it. I don't think certain other factors are helping though but clearly thousands of us want the same card.

+ forgot to mention the selling of the few cards they have received in pre builds.. magic

I'm out as well due to the same 3090 FE drop. Part of me feels manipulated by Nvidia: clearly they want to sell 3090s instead of 3080s. Still, value is what a damn fool will pay for it.

I'm going to wait for it to arrive and will then cancel my 3080 Strix OC order here. At the rate the 3080 Strix cards are dispatched, this could mean that someone is getting their 3080 Strix a whole month sooner than they would have otherwise.

Anyone seen/heard of the stock situation with KFA2? I ordered a KFA2 3070 SG (With OCUK), and I cannot seem to find out anywhere if any shipments have been made to the retailers. I messaged KFA2 and their response was not useful.

I am wondering whether to post something in the customer services section to seek a response. I do not need the card right away (I am 74th in the queue so I can wait a bit - hopefully no more than 4 weeks lol), but knowing what the stock situation with kfa2 is like would be quite useful.

Cards for OEM builds are separate allocations from manufacturers to general allocations just as an FYI.
Already covered this many times and while your right . The fact small incoming shipment has been shipped at lower numbers then stated and reports of retail box being shipped with them pre builds can't really blame people for thinking the worse . Again this could all be sorted with good communication

Anyone in the Asus STRIX 3080 OC queue above 500 should move up 1, just cancelled my order and got confirmation.

Goodluck to the rest of you
