NO GTX 3000 GPU's

What the hell is really going on. the new stuff always sells out that normal, but when the last gen and the one before is also all sold out EVERWHERE... WTF is going on...

I mean a god dam GTX 950 just sold for £100 WTF.... Ryzen 1700's going for £150 the world as gone mad

It's called a pandemic.

Turn your TV on and change the channel to sky news or whatever you like CNN, etc.

I made £5k+ selling weights I paid £500 for 10 years ago. I think I made £15k selling my whole home gym.

Certain lines have been hit hard since April.

Stock eventually runs out to the point more and more people start buying whatever they can. Old stuff won't be getting manufactured any more so one day it will run out.

I tried to sell a PSU last year on eBay and the best offer i got was like £35-£45 it was a platinum 1000w Psu so no way I was selling it brand new still sealed for that when it had a 10 year warranty. I sold it for circa £150 a few months back still sealed.

If you have any crap lying about get it on eBay.

My 1700 is staying where it has been for nearly four years now, in my computer. Still churning data.

I have seen AMD 7950 selling on eBay for £100!!!

I cannot bring myself to list mine though!!! I love it!!

You have to factor in it will eventually die best to sell it whilst the going is good and grab a cheap gpu off MM.

There is a 1650 super available for £110 with plenty of warranty seems like a no brainer to me.

I have a gtx1070, the 7950 is a backup. Plus I love it! It will end up as 'art' on a wall probably!!

Geeks are gonna geek!

AS Psycho Sonny says stock runs out, both in the retail chain and possibly more importantly in the manufacturing side of things.

IIRC this year has seen bumper sales of all sorts of IT gear, and stuff that you can do at home (Games Workshop IIRC is the best performing company on one of the stock markets - it turns out people like painting their models when stuck at home).
Things like laptops, home computers and netwirking gear have seen sales through the roof, whilst at the same time the companies that make them, and make the parts that go in them have been hit by things like shut downs, staff distancing, staff illness the same as everyone else.

Then there is disruption in the transport chains, things are moving more slowly, some countries are effectively isolating at a national level (Australia) which can have an effect on some of the raw materials that are used.

Basically massive demand and manufacturing/transport disruption = shortages.

It took me about 4 months to be able to source a reasonably priced webcam at one point* and that was still twice the price it was this time last year, and they've only just started come back down in price a month or so back.

*I think it was June you couldn't get a webcam unless you were willing to buy a pro/business model costing ~£200+ and even that was hard to find (I think the only ones I saw reliably in stock were ~£500+ conferencing ones).

Of course you did.

Of course you did.

Maybe go check the massive official home gym building thread in the sports section and look at the name of the person who created it.

It used to be littered with pictures of all my gear unfortunately all no longer working links as it's over 10 years old but if you really want I can send you links to backups I might have on the cloud but only if you agree to apologise when the link is posted.

i had 4 months off the gym because people was selling the £50 agros home bench crap for £400

I found it extremely difficult to sell my body solid bench plus attachments because it's impossible to post.

I paid around £550 new for the whole thing. The attachments were like £75 each possibly more I can't remember so much time has passed.

Best offer I got was £200. I decided to keep it in that case for when I re buy all the gear I sold for 1/10th of the price.

I was selling dumbells at £200-£350 a pop in April.

I had 2.5kg all the way up to 45kg in 2.5kg increments.

I bought the full lot for £500 ish.

I also had a tonne of other gear. 2 benches, power rack, attachments, several barbells even Olympic dumbells too and then about 1200kg in Olympic plates. I also had 6 kettle bells they sold for good money too.

Nordic track treadmill. Concept 2 rower.

I only have one bench and the dumbell rack left which is used for storage now I re invested £5k of it into 2 bikes and a full wahoo kickr setup.

So I can still get cardio in.

Pandemic still messing with supply chains, bots buying up stock to sell on for more and concerns about the world economies means less production capacity.
