OcUK RX6900XT review thread

Basically if you care about 4k and want to use RT with DLSS, then you go with Nvidia as with these features enabled they understandably destroy the AMD cards. If you want the best 1080p and 1440p and don't use RT then go AMD.

Well, happy new year I guess, it's all over, we've got this years biggest releases out of the way.

Glad I have a 3080FE, no reason to even consider AMD unless I want to be a nasty scalper.

Basically if you want a GPU this year its not going to happen anyway...

Its about where I expected it to be sans a waterblock and a bit of tweaking. Strong in 1080 & 1440 and raster-wise holding up in 4K. I gave up playing the lottery launch day excitement and settled for a 6800 last week, really wanted an XT but I can hold off till March / April when the supply settles.

You posted the same thing in the other thread. Which I replied look at the fortnite ray tracing results of the 3080 at 4K producing 13 frames per second. In my opinion neither the 3000 Series nor the 6000 series should be looked at specifically for ray tracing.

Perhaps 4 or 5 generations from now were rasterized games are always showing over 300 fps at 4k but not now.

If were honest the best option is 3070 + DLSS, then it's an even toss up between the 6800XT and the 3080 and if you have big pockets the 3090. The 6900XT doesn't really seem to be a very good option, it doesn't really justify itself price wise over 6800XT or 3080 and if you have the money why gimp yourself over DLSS and Ray Tracing.

Well Fortnite must extremely poorly optimised because a game like Control at 4K with Raytracing on gets far more FPS than 13 so you're using a poor example, also who would play a competitive shooter with Raytracing on when FPS means everything.

The 3070 is nowhere near the best option. The best options are a 3060Ti + DLSS if you are on a budget or a 3080 and DLSS if you aren't so much. The 3070 is in no-mans land.
