I was always told that the Irish market is like the UK 30 years ago...lots of small independents and not much in the way of big chains?
In that situation it's really hard to buy in large enough quantities that the shipping charges for each unit aren't pretty hefty.

Pretty much. Ireland is a small market for PC building but it is growing a lot over the years. The problem I saw over the years was that the stores had jacked prices for all things. Mobo, cpu, cases and GPUs. 200+ over the RRP and even though we had to include the cost in pounds to euros, it was always cheaper to just go with UK stores. We didn’t have mainland options either for many years but that changed in the last 10 years.
i feel that those Irish shops didn’t expect those to price check their items too. But every time I visited I always checked against OCUK and Amazon and so on.
the last store we had was Maplins. I think they are British, but like others, they closed up and left as no one was buying. I only bought compressed air from them over the years.
I'm in the same boat as yourself. What do you plan to do? I'm thinking of cancelling my order and wait till January and look at trying to buy in the EU somewhere.Just wondering now with Brexit coming into affect very soon, whats going to happen to people like me in Ireland who have a 3080 preorder, are we gonna get screwed by delivery or some kind of import tax?
Mmmmm doombar lovelyDoom bar is lovely, wish it was here
Won’t lie, I’ve had Guinness in many places and it’s just something about it here.Mmmmm doombar lovely
I don't drink Guinness unless I'm in Dublin
Never tastes the same after it has traveled

Or just join the U.K.Swap you Guiness for 3080s, what you reckon?
Wish the 3080 Strix was the same, seems like they just don't make them anymore. So this week 20 and next week 100 for the 3080 TUC,
I should be 42 in queue, might have a chance to get it before Xmas.
Don't think anyone was blaming the UK if anything were blaming our own country also ya I suppose could just order from amazon franceOr just join the U.K.
understand about keeping politics out, but that cuts both ways. Can't blame the U.K. for hardware issues in Ireland when they can buy from any EU country without tariffs.
Maybe it is a good opportunity for OCUK to open a new store in Dublin
If your lucky, my OC order queue has gone down by very little I started at 901 on the 23rd of October and as of the 4th of December im like 650.... so im months awayI'm currently 288 in the queue for the Asus 3080 Strix Non-OC. Does anything think I'll get one In January or Feb?
What happened?Well RIP my Strix 3080 OC
Not a political dig. I’m not putting money on trusting that their won’t be a no deal.

Ya hopefully, my only worry is the same issue that Apple had last year I think where they wanted a data center in Galway but got shut down on it, feel like the same will happen to the forestFair mate.
