*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

Yep there is an idd prerequisite it's called sufficient heat! It only comes on when the card needs it to. My RTX3080 keeps it off until stressed enough and you know it's come on from the fans getting a bit louder.
I ran furmark and it got to 72C. The 4th fan still did not turn on lol.

Careful. She's got back up.

Im not afraid to take them both on

It is not the first time the Strix has been missed off the emails either, may be some bad code.

Most likely bad code. I missed an update on the 30th October although I did get one on the 28th.

There are 30 units coming in next week hopefully. That should sweeten things up a bit. Hopefully this only the start.
As we all know no units came in last month. This is also true for the competitors too. Any reduction in the queue have been down to cancellations.

My position went down 46 places to 800th in line. If you were lower than 800 it would have gone down by less. If you were higher it would have gone down by more.

Be patient my friends.

WATCH THIS in 24 months

When the next generation "Ampere's" successor "Hopper" cards are released, possibly Q4 2022

There will be no 4080 at £649 or 4090 at £1499, Nvidia now know people will pay more than double just to get the latest GPU's

The scalping, the demand and no console competition, has given Nvidia new insight, yes sir....

Watch the Hopper 4080 be priced more than Turing, £1400 to £1500 and the Hopper 4090 (Titan) at £1999 to £2200+ then add scalp if its a bad launch

I quick 5 minute thought and its easy to predict the incoming **** show of next, next gen :(

Doubt it. The 3090 is partly selling off the back of people not being able to buy a 3080 but the fact you can easily buy one clearly shows its not exactly flying off the shelves in quite the same way.
Thats because most people simply can't afford it. Nvidia knows its sweet spot for the 80 series cards is £700 to £900 or so. If prices do rise next year then it'll be interesting to see what that does to sales.
Next year the 3060ti and 3070 may end up being the bigger sellers.

For someone like myself, I can afford it, but I simply refuse to pay that much for something that doesn't offer a significant performance increase. Factoring in selling my 2080 Ti, and the cost to upgrade approximately triples if I go for a 3090. A few hundred quid for a 30% performance increase is pretty decent. Paying an extra grand on top of that to get a further 10% is not.

The people who will drop the best part of £1000 on a card is only a fraction of the market. You can see the results of Steam surveys where the lower range cards in a series make up a higher percent, as you'd expect.

The vast majority of people still play on 1080p.. No reason to spend that sort of money and buy a 3080/3090 to play games on 1080p.

I know what you're saying about the 3090 also. I myself was very tempted to buy one on multiple occasions just to get out of this whole wait game situation.. But I managed to slap myself in the face when I thought about it:D Double the price of a 3080, could buy the 3080 I got and a new processor for that price and probably still have lots of spare change.

Sorry all but I'm out. Managed to get super lucky on the last MSI 3080 SUPRIM X from a small tech business, being dispatched Monday and arriving Tuesday. Have unfortunately filled to cancel my preorder on the Strix OC as one I don't need two cards so let someone else have it and two I'm afraid waiting half way into next year isn't gonna cut it with my first build all ready and waiting. Thank you OC for the monitor I already got off you and all the updates. We really appreciate the info especially in this situation. Wish you all the best in getting your cards people.

Congrats my friend. Let us know what Cyberpunk is like at 4k-Raytracing Ultra. :)

Could you be helpful and let everyone know what was your queue place at last update?

Wow I thought I was bad off at 800. As I said congrats m8. Enjoy your gaming xmas break :).
Thank you kind sir. Yeah was abit of a later one deciding whether to go for the 2070 Super or go all out with the 3080. Wish you the best and hopefully Asus will pump out those Strix cards. Plus all the other cards for everyone else. Will stick around to chat and see everyone get their cards too.

My resolve cracked last night and I now have an MSI 3090 Suprim coming (plus 850W PSU to handle it). If it arrives and works ok I'll drop out of my queue position (over 700) on the 3080 Gaming X Trio.

To make up for this extravagance I'm going to forego a Mountainbike upgrade this year. Whilst i can afford it all the Derbyshire part of me feels I should pay this penance :)

..during a pandemic year. When folks cannot spend on holidays or going out, and turn their attention to at-home hobbies.

Hopefully this won't be the same in 2022.

Anyone else wondering where all the Asus tuf oc 3080s went? I've dropped only about 30 places in 3 weeks (currently at 715) and they were supposed to have received 250 cards? Think it's time to go back and use bots to try and find some in the wild... This is getting painful.
