*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

Bad news guys... The reseller posted my £1030 ASUS 3080 TUF OC to the wrong address which was refused by a neighbor. I can now either wait for it to be returned back to him so he can resend it or ask for a refund.

I'm really ****** off because I wanted to play games on New Years Eve!

The question now is should I continue with purchase or wait an indefinite amount of time for a 3080Ti?
You got ripped off lol I would have waited for the Ti or spent the extra on a 3090. Your choice though, and dude you’re not the only bummed about not being able to play games on New Years Eve... some people are still waiting on day 1 hour 1 orders.

Happy New Years btw everyone, hope you all get your cards soon and game happily through 2021 :)

I requested a refund on Ebay btw. With the failed delivery It just wasn't mean't to be. Back to scratching my ass and waiting for the 3080TI which I think will be worth it. :)

Hello @Gibbo

How about the ones who ordered GPU from Ireland, any news how delivery will be??

Just for curiosity, i have added a 3090 and ask to Delivery to Ireland which i have received a message about Brexit.

Anyone else in this forum from Ireland know the answer?

Happy New Year and indeed - lets hope that the backlogs start to clear and the scalpers start to suffer. I look forward to seeing them all sitting on graphics cards they purchased at inflated prices only to find they can't sell them for RRP!!

I had the option to bid on an Inno3d RTX3080 X2 on a well known auction site but in the end I just couldn't face paying around 50% more than the £649 RRP for it. It sold for £930 in the end. If we're still in a dire shortage situation 3-4 months from now then I may have to think again because while my GTX1080 is reasonably smooth on IL2 Sturmovik it does stutter in dogfights and FS2020 is largely unplayable in VR. On the upside though Elite Dangerous, Star Wars Squadrons, Assetto Corsa and Project Cars 2 are all running well. I'm lucky I have a card that runs some VR titles well and can still game.

I do wonder how the release of the RTX3080Ti will play into all this too. When it releases in Feb I wonder if this will cause a lot of people to cancel their pre-orders for RTX3080's or even sell theirs on if they have them already? Could this lead to a glut of RTX3080's and RTX3070's? I certainly hope so - for people looking to spend around £600-£700 on a card that could be a good time to buy!

I suspect people are going to want to see stock availability and price before cancelling orders, and I'd hope there was going to be a concerted push to get 3080s shipped this side of the Chinese New Year so order back-log hopefully will be considerably reduced by then.

I'd be a little surprised if there were many 3080s being replaced by a 3080Ti, it would seem to make more sense to wait for the next generation if you've already got a 3080, but there are always some who have to have the latest...

I could imagine 3070s getting swapped out though by those who settled for a 3070 due to stock constraints, but who's to say the 3080Ti won't be as badly constrained as the 3080 was...

Who knows how long you will be waiting for the ti. Just like all these silly YouTube videos saying the 3080 is dead due to the ti. What? So my 3080 no longer plays the games I play anymore at an acceptable graphical and FPS? I am more than happy and am playing most titles at 4K 60-115fps with variable graphical settings based on the game engine. The cards are not obsolete after 3 months just like many 2080 ti owners are more than happy with their cards. Depends if you just have to have the best irrespective of whether you just play CS GO or not

Don't listen to those people. They're mainly people salty because they haven't been able to order a 3080. The TI won't be that much of a leap from the 3080 which is comfortably maxing out all of the games in my library.

Flight simulator on 2080ti OC is largely unplayable in VR for me too. Getting around 23fps on low settings. Seems my 3900x is a bottleneck would you believe.

From what I believe there should be no tariffs to export computer parts from the UK into the EU. It might need more in depth paperwork but that should not effect you?

The only problem I foresee really is increased checks when on the ferry to Northern Ireland.
Don't worry by the time you actually recieve your GFX card they will be well over any teething problems.

My understanding is that worst case you'll be charged VAT at your local rate, no duty will be payable.

Guys i would like some suggestions please, im really tempted to cancel my 3080 msi x trio order and buy a 3070 on a marketplace. Im currently using a friends 980 but its driving me insane with trying to have a fun gaming experience.
I've already waited 3months and i assume there is no eta for when the other 600 spaces before me in the queue position will be fuffilled. my only guess is that i will be waiting till March/April for my card to arrive. Should i just cancel and order 3070 and then get a 3080 when everything is settled? Let me know your thoughts.

also does anyone know how long refunds take? if its too long then i guess i just wait.
