Mario Odyssey story completed, great funbut still have a good few more moons.
Took me a while but I 100% it last year. Fantastic game. Well worth it for the sense of achievement

My kids watched a YouTube video I was subjected to that said this game has like 3 or 4 endings after the first one depending on what moons and things you do
The game is super easy until the post credits areas. That’s when the game really begins.
I got 100% completion 10 days after launch. It’s easily the best 3D Mario game.
yeah i did not play myself but did help my kids with a few puzzles and parts. i was left thinking it was a great purchase and value for money for a top priced game.
I received a Switch over Christmas and so far I am really enjoying it.
As a machine it feels amazingly laid back and perfect for on and off gaming. So far I have finished Links Awakening and chewing my way through the Ghostbusters Remaster (a game I truly adore in all its forms).
Although if I had to mention one negative...Nintendo don't ever really drop there prices do they? I know there is probably a plethora of arguments why people feels thats ok but in relation to the rest of the gaming market...it feels oddly out of step.
That being said, I noticed Mario Odyssey is currently £33.29 on the E Shop. Is that a good price? Is it a good Mario Game?

The Nintendo first party stuff generally gets a 33% drop at Christmas. Odyssey is up there with the best 3D Mario games. Probably the best.
Do you know if there's any difference between the official and cheaper eBay alternatives?
Borrowed my brothers Switch and I'm enjoying Odyssey and Luigi's Mansion, but I really am not liking the small buttons. I only game on the TV.
I'm tempted to pick up the Pro controller but £50 seems a bit steep. Is it worth the money?
Does the pro have motion controls? Odyssey seems to make a bit of a fuss about using motion control, can't say I'm a fan.

It does have motion though you can turn it off if you want and it's a really great controller with superb battery life. Worth every penny.
I completed the game 100% without waving my arms about.
The pro controller has all the features of the joycons except functioning as 2 controllers. It has the added bonus of analog sticks that don’t effectively function as a digital input and also won’t suffer from stick drift.

I'm not sure I'm afraid. I went for the official ones for £14 a pair. The unofficial ones only seem to be a bit cheaper like £11 a pair.
I highly recommend getting the Pro. It's about 12 hours battery life which is about 1.5x that of the joy-cons. Also, for those who experienced the so-called drift issue with joy-cons (which I haven't experienced personally), I heard that it's not an issue on the Pro. Not sure about Mario Odyssey, but with Galaxy, I tried the motion control using the Pro and a pair of joy-cons and I get on far better with the Pro. That said, I'm a first-time player of Galaxy, so I never got to play around with the original Wii-mote & nunchuk in separate hands. If you're not a first-time player of Galaxy, then you'll probably be better off with the joy-cons in each hand.
I second recommendations for the pro pad. It's a total no brainer and on the Switch and still the best pad i've used to date. That's including the PS5 and new Series S/X pads. Without gushing too much - it disappears in your hands when playing a game, which is the highest praise you can give a pad imo.
I played Odyssey from start to finish with it and wouldn't have it any other way. Same with Zelda, which is equally as much of a must buy.
Decided to pick up the Breath of the Wild DLC while it's cheap, with coins it ended up being £6. My copy of the base game only arrived this morning so I'm yet to start. For those who have played both, am I better off playing the base game first then going back for the DLC or incorporating it from the start?
The Champions Ballad part of the DLC can't be attempted until you've completed the 4 divine beasts. You don't have to have defeated Ganon though.
The other big one is the master sword trial, which keeps it powered up and does 60 damage at all times. I couldn't finish the trial, is brutal.
Most of the other stuff is a bunch of treasure chests with masks/hats which you can use to not be seen by that enemy type, personally wasn't interested in these.

The trial is easy if you can parry all of the attacks. I imagine it's tricky if not.
