When will GPUs return to normal pricing....

If people stopped buying their products, they will realise soon enough, that 'They're too expensive'

Well I already have started to,when they have priced their motherboards to the extent you could buy an X570 mini-ITX motherboard for the price of their B550 mini-ITX motherboard!

gigabyte is doing the same, cards are going up by $80 on average in the US

The problem is Asus is already overpriced, and Gigabyte less so!

You know they've gone mad when a white 3090 is $95 more expensive than one with a waterblock on it. :D

Cheaper to get some acrylic and paint it yourself methinks!! :D

xx60 parts with an official RRP of $530 :D :D :D

Hahahahahahahahahahahaha.

e: LOL, it's worse. I missed the $600 xx60 part :D :D :D

At this rate Asus will make Turing look a bargain!! :P

ASUS's prices have already gone up on several US retailer websites and ASUS's own store

The Strix RX6800XT LC has increased by $180usd
The Strix RTX3090 has increased by $200usd

The cheapest RTX3080 ASUS makes is now $860usd
The cheapest RTX3070 is $650usd

I’m looking for a graphics card for my new build, does overclockers have a ‘is the bloody thing in stock’ button??

£400 budget .... what should I go for

I'm actually starting to regret buying some DDR4 and an SSD for my new build... with a PSU along shortly (maybe if the retailer gets stock that is).

Because I don't actually think I'm going to be able to get a GPU at all.

I'm not spending £600+ on a 3060 (lol) and I'm not spending £800+ on a 6800 non-XT!

And everything is selling out *immediately* at those very prices.

So I'm going to have a bunch of spare parts ticking down their warranty without being able to build jack sheet :p

Now with both Asus and Gigabyte putting the prices up on all their cards and mobos... and the rest sure to follow suit.

As if prices weren't loltastic enough already.

New lockdowns and folk being stuck in again - brings out all the old gamers. I wonder how many buy not knowing the MSRP of these cards. £600 for a 3060! Feeling less scalped by the day @ £850 for a 3080

CPU stock is getting better now!! :P

Well,I would suggest just keeping an eye out for the trickle of stock for the RTX3060TI FE on the Nvidia website(should be under £400).

Such poor availability and crazy high prices at the moment.
I think it's time to call it and just walk away from the table for a while.

Things need to cool off.

Agreed. Getting truly sick of this now. So frustrating that gamers and PC builders can't just enjoy their hobby because, ultimately - greed; Crypto currency and scalping.

I am pulling the plug until things return to normality. In the meantime, I will happily hang back on an Xbox Series X. Consoles have never been such great value. Wake me when the world returns to normal :)

It's like the entire pc component industry is trying its absolute hardest to completely kill off the pc gaming market and move everyone to consoles

I wouldn't negatively judge any pc gamer who moves to consoles tommorow, it's really the best financial decision

Yup, totally given up for now myself. I'll check back again come April time and if things are still the same I think I'll just give up investing any time or money in PC gaming and only buy to replace broken parts that are out of warranty.

The enjoyment i have got from upgrading PCs and gaming on them the last 20+ years has been lost now with this stupid mining lark, price hikes and lack of availability.

Problem is you can't get the consoles either

I wonder about all the younger kids that want to get into pc gaming and pc building etc but their parents simply can't afford to buy components, a lot can't afford to buy a PS5 let alone an equivalent gaming PC, One reason i missed out of years of gaming is because i couldn't afford to build a pc or even buy a console. Fortunately i am in a better position in life and i could if i wanted to build my dream pc right now but at the same time the current prices feel like I'm being extorted and haven't pulled the trigger based on principle and thus I'm very much on the fence and waiting to see if anything changes in the next few months.

I would also love to know how much it actually costs to produce these cards and what their profit margins are etc. How much could they lower the prices and still make a good profit, how much of this is due to pure greed.

Right now I'm just hoping my 2080 doesn't give up on me!

..trying to replace it with something of similar or superior performance would be practically impossible, as hell will freeze over before I pay scalper prices, whether from scumbag individuals or scumbag retailers.

look at prices of the FE and zotacs for an idea how low they can go, they both commercial companies so will be sold at a profit.

Hard to say further then that though without an insider leaking the info.

He might have been wrong, but if he was invested in Bitcoin 5 years ago he made a 7953% return on his investment and probably doesn't care :D.

The main reason it's volatile is that it's still in the early days. That's likely to change long term especially now that big money is coming in from institutional investors.
shame he took at out back in that peak :D its not early days its been around for like 10 odd years now, thats long enough to become currency if stable. the simple truth is grim is correct. bitcoin will never be currency until its regulated.

anyway back on track :P

how long is it going to be until you can mine on a ps5/x box series x?

Wasn't there a super computer built out of PS2s once?
