EV general discussion

Model 3s, iPaces and Audis I bet it's even higher than 50%.

Not sure about the Nissan, Hyundai and Kia's. I'd guess more are PCPs.

Well Joe T’s not going to tell us, so we’ll just have remain ignorant. On the upside, we now know what the T stands for ;)

I have sat in one - so not really sure how any photo you can take is going to change my real life experience.

Perhaps our perception of enough room is different. I'm sure I'd cope if I was given one, or got a good deal. I'm not sitting in the back, so doesn't really effect me as the driver.

Your post came across as though you were enquiring. I'm not sure how much space you actually need though? What's your son doing back there, badminton? :D
Consider a huge SUV or executive vehicle maybe.

Don't need a huge or executive SUV. Just a car with enough leg room to allow a normal sized person to move their legs a bit.

Don't get all defensive, no one's dissing your Kona.

I'm not being defensive. I drive an ioniq :D:p

I was simply trying to help. NVM though

I'd be looking at the eNiro instead.

I have driven both at night. The e-Niro has halogen projector headlamps and the Kona has LEDs. Matrix LEDs on the facelift. The difference is massive. The e-Niro is like driving with candles in comparison. So yes, it’s bigger but it’s cheaper for a reason. It’s missing quite a few toys you get on Kona. I don’t really care about the HUD or the cooled seats but the LED headlamps are a deal-breaker for me.

The eNiro 4+ model has LED headlights

Well the Tesla Model 3 was the best selling car in the UK last month with 5,798 new registrations, in second was the Golf with 4,470, and third Fiesta with 3,367. Oddly the ID.3 only managed 3,188 even though they were giving them away in a panic to get enough credits on the books.

Over 3k cars in one month is impressive. Polestar have only registered about 850 cars in 4 months.

But aren’t they doing that to themselves? They’re not releasing cars with known defects to customers and fixing them before they ship them unlike VW who literally hurled cars they KNEW didn’t work properly at customers and will (hopefully) fix them afterwards.

Polestar 2 deliveries since the start of November have had the recall work already done from the factory.

Not sure that's any different to Tesla beta testers at launch....

Maybe folks just don’t want them then? (Just kidding:))
Well it’s probably true - most people choose the TM3 because it’s about the same price and is the in trend brand right now. Unless you were into touring car racing some years back then you’ve probably never heard of Polestar.

Not just at launch. My Model 3 Performance was delivered with 7 defects in the paint, body panels and upholstery. They don't really PDI them. They hand them over and teh new owner finds the faults really. None were ever fixed. Not that I had the car that long (about 3 months) but they weren't that interested in 'minor cosmetic' issues. I did have a drive issue that they fixed very quickly.

Tesla's real party-piece is the OTA updates. When they have a software issue (and most of the car is software controlled) they just update it and it's done. It's a very refreshing experience.

Liberal dose of brexit fear in the id3 deliveries too;
Is polestar, like tesla, minimal dealership (or std volvo?) and streamlined delivery from sporadic big shipments .?

Followed a 19 m3 on bike this morning ... back gets very dirty, is there increased venturi effect from undertray/streamlining .

Most EV's have OTA software and system updates.

Its funny how people see things from different perspectives.

I am a Neanderthal admittedly but I just want to get a car with everything working on day 1 and have it working exactly the same way on day 1000. That's not to say the ability for the car to update itself shouldn't be utilised but it shouldn't be a crutch for unfinished development and it shouldn't distinctly change the cars UI. That needs to be right before they take a customers money IMO.

I'm not really the target market for these sorts of EVs though. Just give me a simple car that happens to be powered by electricity, MG5 is a pretty good example I guess.
