Nvidia CES 2021 stream

So Frustrating
More like nearer £400 at the rate things are going! You know it will only be a limited stock of FE models. AMD and Nvidia RRP is a bit of a joke currently! :(

Might be cheaper to buy a gaming laptop with an RTX3060 once you add the cost of the rest of the PC.

This really came out of left field for me, has there ever been a time before where a gaming laptop was better value performance wise than the equivalent gaming pc? I've never never followed the latest tech as much as i do currently because i have never been in a position in my life before where i could afford to buy the latest hardware like i am fortunate enough to be able to do now.

In the last few years since mining, etc has happened gaming laptops have ended up cheaper at certain periods. I remember back in 2017/2018 you could get a laptop with a GTX1060 and half decent CPU for less than what you could end up building a system for. In fact I have recently seen a Ryzen 7 4000 series 8C/16T laptop with an RX5600M(downclocked desktop RX5600XT) for around £600!!

I was waiting for 3080 Ti. Is there a chance it could launch in Feb now or are we looking at June earliest? The fact that they announced 3060 with end of Feb availability doesn’t bode well for the 3080Ti supposed to launch in the same time frame.

I pretty much guarantee there will be a 3080Ti, as well as a 20GB 3080 but stock issues seem to be holding things back.

And Re-Size bar support announced

Unfortunately, a driver update is not enough.

To get re-size bar working, you will need to flash your RTX3000 GPU with a new bios - the new BIOS will be released in March.
Once flashed, update to latest driver and latest motherboard BIOS and Re-Size bar will work

Nvidia re-size bar works on Intel 10th gen, Intel 11th gen CPU and AMD Zen 3, Zen 2 CPU and its works on pcie3 and pcie 4 motherboard

So march till the re-bar. Just in time when you can actually buy a 6-series card....nice:D

3060 looks pretty poor, it'll be 10% faster than the 2060 2 years later, so 2070 performance (and that was not a great jump in inself)

a 3060 6gb for 250 makes more sense to me.

Rebar is what interested me although still a month off, hopefully it's as good as AMDs Sam

Well that was disappointing, no Ti variant and a 3060 which has more memory than all the rest above (apart from the 3090).

Doesnt sound like Re-Size is coming to the older generations either, just the 30 series.

You can't put as much as you want on them, depends on the bus of each card and probably on the type of memory. So for the 3060 it was either 12 Gb or 6Gb. For 3080 10 or 20 Gb etc.
