Radeon 6900 XT

I love EK products and the company but have switched to heatkiller for this cycle.

I have promised SWMBO that i will switch back to Alienware laptop and dock for 7nm but the 'rona has put paid to that until at least 2022 :D
wow ha ha that is pretty cool !

that's true

Still I think I made the right choice with the 6900 XT :D

I think you are definitely right.

Took out my Sapphire Nitro+ 6900xt (stock) to try out a 3090FE and at 1440p I didn't see a discernable difference and think I saw more down turn in performance compared to uplift (not surprising given the benchmarking previously done).

I have yet to try rtx heavy games like control and Minecraft RTX (if my son can persuade me) but if the 6900xt was a push and according to Hardware Unboxed worse card of 2020 then the elephant in the room has to be the 3090.

It will be interesting how both compare as more games are released and if they take benefit of RT but if AMD can sort Superfidelity to combat DLSS 2.0 asap and with the 3080ti seemingly nowhere near the 6900xt is positioned well

Yea the 6900 XT was entitled "the worst card of 2020" or people said the card would have no reason to exist.

I don't think so. Sure it's expensive, but it is a great card and performance wise very close if not beating the rtx 3090, tho costing ~500€ less (reference model)

Good to see so many positive experiences from people that have used the 6900 XT, biggest of all the Navi’s.

Drivers have been spot on too at launch.

That's what I'm saying I'm agreeing. In real world performance comparing the 2 I have the 6900xt is one hell of a card. I know for the bump in price people are going to compare it to the 3080 and 6800xt and when you compare top tier 6900xt Vs 3090 with the exception of RTX specific developed titles and Control the 6900xt is one hell of a card

You sir make me really thirsty finally putting it in.

I still need to get a case, psu and ram.

Edit: Ok yesterday I bought a Be Quiet Straight Power 11 1000W 80+Platinum psu, that should be plenty

Well, I'm not quite an owner yet, but put in a an order for the Sapphire Radeon RX 6900 XT NITRO+. It's supposed to arrive the 3rd of February. So let's hope so.

With my store discount I got the card for (converted) £980. Which is also a decent price where I live (Norway). I decided to just preorder rather than wait as I saw all cards across the board go up in price at various retailers. So I'm glad i locked in that price now.

I really wanted the MERC, but it wasn't possible to order it. So I'm hoping the Sapphire will be as good although it seems slightly slower out of the box compared to the MERC.

But this will be a great upgrade and I can't wait :D

I wouldn't be concerned with the factory overclock being a bit lower, all the cards can boost their clock speeds to well beyond those listed so they're kind of irrelevant.
