Rtx 3080 stock question

Hi all

Big apologies for such a noob question but please humour me and try not to make me feel too dumb :p

I've seen Gibbo's post that OC are expecting more RTX 30 series cards later this week which is great.

My question is how can I ensure that I get one? Am I able to reserve or pre-order one? Or will I have to be on my toes, waiting for the notification and spam the buy button before a scalper?

Sorry in advance, just quite frustrated

Thanks,
Archii

So none of the cards coming into OC stock will go up for sale on the website?

Damn

As far as I know, when certain models clear their queue, any new ones will be used to sidegrade/upgrade similar cards in other queues. Even a summer prediction relies on OCUK (sorry OCGB) getting way more 3080's than they've got since September.

That is astounding! And the EVGA shipping list is shocking

I got a TUF a few days after release from OCUK, feel like I've been a lottery winner!

They are not bad value as well for the price/performance ratio as well, isn’t it?

The FE's are the only cards that don't come with a heavy dose of buyers remorse right now. I picked up a 3070fe before xmas to use while I wait on my 3080, and it's really good. Even the 3090FE at msrp is starting to look good compared to the £1100 Suprims that sold out in seconds today at a competitor.

The build quality is worth the price of ownership alone, makes a lot of the third party cards look like cheaply made crap, which in reality they are.

Is there a way to get notified when the FE is in stock again?

Discord. I'm not sure what the rules are about naming alert services so I'll not name them, but one particular discord is good for FE's. I'm sure you'll find it if you google - pretty sure they are on twitter too.

A touch extreme no? I quite like some of the aftermarket card with coolers, especially with a more regular PCIe plug placement is far more practical for my needs than just in the middle of the card somewhere with a strange new connector. I do agree that some do not look that great, for me the gigabyte ones are not that nice but I wouldn't personally say cheaply made crap

Nope, comparing my 3070FE to my vega 64 strix there's no comparison, the fe is much smaller but has a very solid feel to it and a surprising weight. There's been a few on here got the aorus master and said it just feels cheaply put together.

Takes you to have in fe in your hand to get a sense of how premium it feels as pics really can't convey that part, the weight really catches you out as you expect it to be much lighter as it's smaller than a vega 64 strix but probably similar in terms of weight. The power connector is very dumb but the overall quality is really top notch.

Ask anyone on here that got an FE and they'd probably say along similar lines, it really does feel like a quality piece of kit.
