It would only take one person to accidentally or on purpose, "leak" the info that queues were being manipulated which would cause mayhem. Look how the queues have been forensically analysed on here.

I get where you’re coming from with this. No one’s disadvantaged because someone drops out and gives their place to someone else. I just see something like that having the potential of turning into a ‘position for sale’ scenario so I’d be against the idea.

Sheesh guys take it easy. It was just a theoretical question and yes in reality no one in the queue would even know anything had changed. People wouldn't be waiting any longer than they originaly would have and it was only for cancellations I was asking, not people being offered money for their queue position. I can see why it might be frowned upon however should the masses find out it had gone on

You can get discord alerts on your mobile phone.

I got a 3060ti, 3070 and now a 3080FE with help from discord, with two kids at home. Its not easy but you have to put a bit of effort in. Something your question suggests you dont want to do.
I think you have enough answers to your question now anyway and you can see what the majority say. End of I think.

You can't make a coherent argument with an incoherent stupid question. Unfortunately for you, he is correct. And the cold queue analogy is perfect, people been waiting for months in a queue and getting antsy, much like people would quickly get fed up in the cold - same feeling of resentment to queue jumper.

They are disadvantaged though, as someone jumped in front of them, after someone who had also queued dropped out, therefore, they've lost 1 place in the queue. This process could continue unabated. Not that it's ever going to happen mind you.

Not digging anything, I have been on various discord groups and twitter alerts for 2 weeks and every alert i have tried always gets snapped up before me, its not as easy as you make up now stock is drying up and less available, so no matter however many quips you make about me not trying hard enough there's a massive demand for these cards and getting hold of one is not that easy. If it was so easy there wouldn't be so many complaints surely.

Again you have missed the point. Its an analogy. Being in the cold, length of waiting in the queue. Okay let me give you a warm example.

Water park in Spain closes its doors. Too many people inside so have to let one in one out. Its 32c in the shade. 150 people in queue. Family at queue position 3 decides its too hot and they have waited 3hrs already leaves the queue. You see them leave the queue ask if its okay to take their position. They say okay. You think the rest of the queue are going to be happy with you queue jumping ? No you will get a load of verbal from most of them and probaby ejected from then queue by the rest who are waiting. Nothing to do whether it is cold or warm. Queue jumping. It isnt "British" to quote a non PC phrase. It never has been it never will be. Whether its a GPU or an ice lolly. Its common sense. Its well known. You shouldnt have to ask the question.

Now if you were Italian on the other hand I could understand it, they do not know the meaning of the word queue. (Sicilian family)

Its easy to nitpick when there's a few of you that disagree with what I'm suggesting (mob mentality and all that) but it was a perfectly valid question. I couldn't join the queue oringally because I didn't have the money when the cards first came out. Now I do I want to but cannot join any queue. It was a theoretical question, judging by the comments I'm not going to do it, what is so hard to understand.

LOL we are quite happy for you to join a queue. Problem was you wanted to join it in the middle or the beginning not the end and you cant see why this is wrong. Everyone else can.
