*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

how do you find out where you are in the build queue?
You have to contact the customer service team and sometimes they can't answer you.

As far as the building side is concerned we're running maximum safe manpower levels night and day shifts. However, we can't avoid the fact that there are shortages on pretty much every component, even kettle leads. Therefore, ETAs are frankly impossible, unless the system has been built already, because there are too many variables to give accurate answers.

Thanks, Scottie. from the conversation I had with one of your colleagues it seems all the bits and pieces for the build are now in so I guess I'm further up the ladder than some. Its just guess its just a waiting game. first world problems I guess.

well, because we have such a wide range of spec's, even a system near the bottom on the "queue" could be built before one at the top if the parts for the newer build are available. We build as many systems as we can every day and sometimes to achieve that we have to build out of order. Only graphics cards are manually allocated strictly first come first served.

no idea

Now do you understand why some questions don't get answered? especially when asked repeatedly
Sorry but I have asked repeatedly that people stop assuming that I have an answer for everything because writing "don't know" for the hundreds of daily questions that I can't answer wouldn't give me any time to actually do my job (forums is not my job)
And there’s the angry old man in a rocking chair telling me off for being on his lawn . Cheers

Shambolic situation. These companies have got you all by the balls. We are being taken advantage off.

I phoned a competitor and waited, 20 minutes on the phone, the customer service could not even be bothered and was rude, said a 2-month wait for said GPU and there was a queue, how convenient for you, I though.

I decided not to spend my thousands of pounds on something that costs far more than the advertised price, take crappie customer service and also pay over the odds.

I walked ! And know what these said companies are doing to keep this situation going for as long as possible.

Bro what... Its nobody's fault outside of NVIDIA... You can't even really blame the manufacturers... Nvidia screwed them over
Nobody wants this situation. While I don't personally agree with OC with how they placed me in a que and also took my money at the same time you have to look at the other side of the glass
If they set out on shipping cards they had then bots could swoop them up. Prices have to rise not because anyone wants to but because of reasons and everyone is going to pay for it. But OC Nice of them are going to cover the cost that have been placed before the rise.

I mean good on you for not spending the money really it's good, God knows when I'm getting my card but with the situation of 2020/2021 everything is ******
So for you just to say how dare they... That's just wrong... If you have to blame someone blame Nvidia for this won't be the last time were going to be put in this situation....

No ball grabbing going on at all. As soon as we knew what the situation was following the launch we contacted every affected customer. We provided a simple online form which enabled then to cancel their order and get a full refund easily and quickly, and for those who wish to wait we provide regular updates.

There's nothing really that anybody can do about phone wait times, every company with more than a handful of customers is in the same boat at the moment, from online retailers to multi-national utility companies. It's not like the guys sit there with their feet up and wait until you've been on hold for twenty minutes before picking up the call.

A lot more people than usual are sat at home looking for things to do and online shopping is often a first port of call for the bored. You are one of thousands of customers attempting to obtain information which is really hard to come by, and it's only human nature, when you've been asked pretty much the same question for the hundredth time today and the five thousandth time since September, that the enthusiasm level is at rock bottom. If you speak to any customer service representative at the moment please give them a break, try to be polite, no matter how angry you may be. It's not their fault.

We'd genuinely love to be in the situation where we can list products for sale normally, have stock or at the very least, accurate ETAs, but reality is a bitch at times and we are firmly tied to the real world and all of the crap that comes along with it.

damn kinda sad one order that had problems like any other store makes you not wanna buy from the company anymore

The ONLY major store in the UK that let pre-paid back orders flood in to the thousands before finally stopping them, days/weeks after others did.

That led to them not being able to offer alternative cards to stuck 3080 queues like other retailers could and can.

Also, the quality of early communication was awful in comparison to competitors. Anything we did get was unclear at best, unhelpful or outright wrong at worst. Why do we have to scroll through forums and find recent posts by several employees to find information when competitors have it all on one page on their main site?

On top of that you had OCUK stop all promotions; technically I should have had a code for Watchdogs Legion as its on my order, but that will never happen, and where competitors changed to other games like CoD: Cold War, OCUK offered nothing.

So, yes, the main situation affected every store, but there is NO excuse for how OCUK chose to handle it.

My money will be going with their competitors who handled it much better, simple as that.

im just wondering what the situation is with the queue updates as i havent gotten an update since the 24th and i have read abit of this fourm and undder stand that theres shipping issues right now to ireland but hearing no update since chrismas is a little worring :confused:

Nvidia issued us 500 codes, how long do you think they lasted when the are automatically assigned to orders?

It's not us who stopped anything, Nvidia applied limits, not us.

During numerous calls with Nvidia we argued the toss on our customer's behalf and got more codes but nowhere near enough to cover the back orders and Nvidia refused to extend the redemption dates.

Customers were advised, numerous times here, to contact our customer service team once they had a card (because you can't redeem a code without one) and we'd issue a code for them. This process was extended for COD Cold War, but again that ends on the 11th Feb.

Ultimately, it's an Nvidia promotion, Nvidia imposed terms & conditions and an Nvidia decision, so blaming us feels petty. I very much doubt that this will have any impact on your decision about where to shop in the future, but I did feel it worth response.

Just missed out on buying RTX 3080 founders edition. UK stock just dropped but only had access to an old mobile phone so could not check out fast enough :(

Hopefully more stock will become available soon

Same, was putting in CC info and it sold out! I think it was up for about 10 minutes. There was pre-ordering for the ASUS TUF 3080's open up on a smaller retailer earlier today as well, looks like 3080s finally starting to filter through which is good to see.

just be glad they offered pre orders as they are honouring the preorder price. If you buy one from anywhere now your looking around the £1k+ range.
